Well, THAT's not helpful - what changed since the last time you had a P0300 code?

Have the same problem. 04 with 7,500 miles. Keep clearing it, always comes back. Under the same circumstances as you. I cannot stand seeing the CEL lit up. Aside from telling me to search(which I have), has anyone figured out a solution? I changed my plugs and wires, still nothing. I am getting my ECU flashed at AMS, will this solve the problem?

Um, first, USE THE SEARCH!

Mitsu will reflash your ECU for it usually but there are plenty who say that didn't help. It's supposedly helped some so if you're willing take it to them before you take it to AMS and see. What Mitsu flashes many flash vendors can't do I understand.

Replace your plugs, narrow the gaps (as tight as 0.24 or even less I've read in places).

And/or buy a C-Reader which will read it and reset it while you drive.

I've put up with it for 45K miles. My C-Reader's always plugged in and I check the code display each time to ensure it was just a P0300 that's being reset.

It's vibration and harmonics supposedly. I've heard that transmission replacement/rebuilds have fixed it. There doesn't seem to be one, solid fix. But use the SEARCH, make your list of what you can change one by one and see if you can get it to go away - at least for a while.

Good luck!

After a lots of visits to mitsubishi service center they gave me a list of possibles reasons for the problem of curse at my cost because i had 40k on my evo. Mitsubishi is giving us in puerto rico a lot of problems with the service. They dont have parts imagine to wait 2 weeks for oem spark plugs, i dont want to know the waiting period for an tc. They have to order everything to us or japan. I think they do this to delay the claims and keep us driving ours cars to pass warranty. I just wanted to wait for the evo x but i buy an 06 sti is a great car too. But i miss my evo. I think they know how to resolve the p0300 problem but this cost to much to mitsubishi an they will keep flashing the ecus to minimize this problem and not to resolve this.

How much is a c-reader? And does it fix the problems or just hid the light?

If I recall, the device is around $35 - that may be before shipping. Just check eBay. It does NOT fix the problem NOR does it hide the light. It will still show and your car will behave as if it has the code (stumble/run rough/run fine/whatever). What it does is resets it within a number of seconds without you having to use a dedicated tool to do so.

I have mine attached by a velcro strap that runs around it screwed into the dash down there where there is already a dashmount screw. I check the light every time I see it in order to ensure I'm only throwing P0300s and not other codes.

the code is caused by harmonics, the crank sensor only has four pickups on it and it senses between pickup points that there is a problem and goes into safe mode which is the misfire that you feel.

the creader will catch most erant codes and the ones is doesn't it will just erase.

the problem with most is the transmission harmonics.

I also have a real bad vibration at about 2500 rpm.

when I take out my creader I get codes left and right.
