Needs advice.....

Hi guys, I found a dealer here in LA selling an used 03 evo for $21,000. The car has around 36,000 miles, clean carfax report, and a few mods (Injen intake, Injen lower intercooler pipe, 5 ZIGEN 17' wheels, Invida full exhaust with down pipe, apex AV coilovers, Greddy boost gauge, and Greddy turbo timer). Should on jump on this deal? Or I should just get the Evo 9 instead. I can afford the 9, but I think that deal is just too good to let go. So what do you guys think? Which car should I buy?

the price is ok......but can you live w/ fixing it if problems do arise from being modded?

EVO is a great car, just cant imagine buying a used one.

its your choice...but if u can afford the 9..get it. The mods on that evo are not that great plus its got 36k on it, who ever had that car prolly drove it through the 5th level of hell.

get the nine... i've heard and read good things about them. with just minor mods like the buschur-warrtalon package, you'll make decent power...

Get the 9! The OTD price should be scary enough. take it home, and within 30 Days, expect to spend money for clutch/TC/other problems. If they would fully warranty the Clutch/TC/ and motor for 6 months, i would consider it.

If it's in good shape, buy the used VIII and use the extra $10,000 making the VIII even more powerful. Turbo, IC, Cams, etc.

People always say this, but it's very poor logic. It's not like people just have $30k sitting around in cash so that they can spend 20k on the car then another 10k on mods right away. Most of the time, people just finance it over 5 years, because their standard pay allows for a certain monthly budget towards the car payment. Plus, an VIII this old that has been modded and likely abused will cause far more problems with that 10k in mods than a IX with only $1270 in mods that runs around with 330whp. The IX would have a warranty, a brand new clutch, brand new tranny, brand new tires and brakes, etc etc, plus it's far more valuable for resale...
