Wow that is ****ed up. I see a Ford Gt 500 on the road and that thing looks like a F1 car on the street and I bet her never gets any hell. They see a japanese car with a huge wing and they think lets mess with him.

There have been several people pulled for this and for the wing being an obstruction of rearward vision. Most cops don't know what an Evo is. They are just profiling.

I have a friend with a bike who has been pulled over for a loud exhaust several times. All he had was a Yoshimura canister on it. He was telling me one time while they are standing on the side of the road and he's getting a ticket a Harley goes by with open pipes and you know those freaking things are loud as hell. My friend says to the cop "Why aren't you giving him a ticket?" The cops answer "His bike sounds good, yours is just loud." Noise tickets are BS unless there is scientific validation behind them.

I got pulled over like a week after I got my car..Still had the dealerplate...Asked about the plate but his main intention was to check my tint..The tint law in Georgia was 31% with +/- 3%, mine came out to be 26%. He did let me go though.

You made a great point. Depending on the cop, they will pull if there board and your a young looking guy. It has nothing to do with your exhaust note, most of the time. Yes I have seen cops pull over "sport" bikes for exhaust tone then watch a band of harleys on pipe rev past the same cop and get thumbs up. Complete bull ****.

However to make you smile a bit. My buddy was pulled over for haveing a loud exhuast (AMS catback) on his evo. Not very loud with stock turbo, dp and cat. Anyways he felt profiled. He took down the cops name and crusier number. We know where the guy sits. Anyways my buddy went back several times over a two week time period and caught him pulling over several other japanese cars and or bikes. If my buddy ask them the problem only a few where "speeding" most got noise violation or some other bs ticket. Now the good errr funny part. The same cop gave thumbs up to loud *** harleys, thumbs up to "good ol fashion" american muscle. To top it off gave prase to this one dudes burnout in a vette.
This was the same cop. Very rude to young guys in nice cars unless there "american muscle". Well my buddy was on a mission and this time he caught the cop doing all that stuff over the two weeks. My buddy was video tapeing. Clearly shows what the cop is doing his face, badge and crusier (with visable number)

My friend showed this to his lawyer (one fighting the ticket to start with). In the past he had told the lawyer the cop does that but the lawyer simply said unless you have proof a judge will take his word over yours, sorry. My buddy said he was shocked to see the lawyer smile so big when he handed him the video tape of evidence.

They have a court date set for the middle of next month about the cop. My buddy isnt goign to sue the cop (which was suggested by several others) He wants to see the cop get punished thats all. BTW the cop is an older gental man prob in late 40's, beer belly and bad attitude.

I will post the outcome when it happens.

cheers.

This pisses me off... Cops always pulling over sport compacts for loud exhausts. Why aren't they pulling over Harleys left and right? Those things are DEAFENING when they're riding next to you.

Fully agree hotrod...

Take it from me, getting behind the wheel of a car when you are pissed off is a bad idea, especially in an evo

Most yuppie Harley riders actually use ear plugs so as not to hurt their hearing

To create that wonderful sound they actually lose HP through tuning and exhaust. Nothing like something that misses one in three times when it fires.

Don't feel bad. I got pulled over for my "blue headlights". The stock HID's. He also made me rev the car to see if i had a different exhaust on.

*knocking on wood HARD*
In my VW GTI, I have NEVER gotten pulled over for mods. I remember I went past a cop and i had just put my short throw shifter on, and i missed a shift. cop heardme and pulled me over, and was like "so u were revving at me?" I responded with a no, and told him about my missed shift. He tried getting me on tinted windows, while i told him that i bought the car like that(which was a lie), and that it would help with the leather inside. At the moment, I had full tbe, intake, lowered to the ground and all the windows tinted. He let me go immediately. I have never had trouble with the law about modofications. It really saddens me hearing you guys getting profiled by the cops, since I'm planning on getting a IX pretty soon.

The stock IX has a different exhaust note than the stock VIII. Go to the track and listen to stock VIII's go down the track - they are so quiet! The IX has more growl to it.

think about it this way. to pull you over and give you a ticket is easy money. they make a profit and have no real expense (police are already on the street, yes there is some admin stuff, but that is easily overcome by your expensive ticket). arresting someone doenst make htem any money, and costs them a ton (booking, fingerprinting, jails have rent, lighting, food bills, heating, etc, court costs etc). so...its either nail you for going 4mph over the speed limit and make $500 or arrest someone for vandalizing your car and cost them $5000. i wonder what its going to be
