so funny story... few weeks ago i bought this 2006 Evolution IX not even 1000 miles on it and its completly stock for now... well tonight i was pissed off so i went for a drive... well sure enough i get pulled over and the cop tried giving me a ticket for illegal exhaust!! on my stock evo... wtf... this ever happen to any1 else?

That happened to me bout mo./2 ago. They were going to give me the ticket when i started laughing and confirming the fact of my exhaust my wheels tires brakes are all part of the evo package. Then they left and so I went of my way.

 

No I can't say it has, by the way I isn't the stock exhaust is very quiet??

Pulled over two times for loud exhaust (not stock).

 

i was mad because i had a rough night and now im getting bothered about this ... so i was like its stock thats how the car comes i just got it... and he goes well it sounds loud... and the other cop was all up under neith lookin and stuff so hes like ok well i thought it was aftermarket so u can just go...i was like wow what a waste of time...


i live in MD by the way.... and yes i thought the exhaust was quiet to but apparently it isnt to some...

 

Dude my stock exhaust made no noise what so ever. I could hear the tires before the exhaust!!!!

 

What can they do to you if you have an "aftermarket" exhaust that is emissions legal?

You would think they'd have more important things to do then to harass innocent people, whose tax money that pays their salaries. But I guess its a lot safer than going after the criminals.

In my old neighborhood in philly, the cops used to be too afraid to do anything to the drug dealers on the corner, but if you were a regular person and drove 3 mph over the speed limit, suddenly they were tough guys.
