I got one of those letters asking about trading the car in because they were looking to build there stock of quality used cars or something like that. Offered some kind of deal on a new car if you traded in, I think. I crumpled it up and threw it out. Not traded in my car anytime soon. I wouldn't sweat it. Not like you don't already own an Evo. Is the IX really that much different or better than the VIII. I don't think so. Just seems like there are a lot of people scrambling around these days trading in their VIII's for IX's, or at least trying to.

 

Oh the horror, the horror. A dealership didn't offer you what you wanted. Dreams shattered, no other Mitsubishi dealers exist.

Right now I am at the transition where I can make my 03 VERY fast, just a couple of more mods and I am done. The suspension is set, the mods are ALMOST set. I mean Next is Alky and a Flash which would get me 380-380 or probably 400-400++++ with my list of mods.

Jun took an Evo IX just this month with a Jun Racing exhaust cam and tuburlar Manifold oand 02 housing which looks the same as the eBay one, and an HKS FCON with larger injectors and so on, they made 400WHP on pump gas I believe? IDK.

 

None in my state willing to play ball. All of them are just insane markups. I have to go to CA to get my MR if I want to.

 

Where do you live? Perhaps the peanut gallery can offer some "wisdom".

 

I just went through what you did basically. I wanted to get a new 9 or 05 evo, because I wanted the front and center diff for autox which my 03 didn't have. I knew if I could get good money for my 03 that it would be possible, so I put an add up trying to sell my 03. Well about 3 weeks after that I sold it for exactly what I wanted for it. I got way more then what a dealer would pay. My true problem was that I live in cincinnati and theres one evo dealer in the city, obviously they wouldn't deal. Its hard for me to understand why these dealers just wont sell a car, they have like 5 or 6 evos sitting on lots with numerous people wanting to buy them, and they wont give anyone a fair deal. So I Was going to buy mine from cali, for the 32699 they wanted for a MR. I was really nervous about shipping a brand new car and buying it with out seeing it. SO I took what I would pay in shipping from a reputable shipper (intercitylines.com) and added that to what I wanted to pay. I printed out cali's prices and went to work. I called everywhere with in 3 4 hour drive of whereI live. Finnaly In indiana There was a dealer that had 2 mr's they wanted 40g's for one, trying to say that the zerolift and mr packages were special packages. I'm like look heres what I can get one for, these are all standard on the MR quit yanking my chain, you wanna sella car or not. SO They finnaly came down I payed a lil bit more then I would have from cali, but to me the piece of mind in not having to ship it was worth it.

what the hell is the point of trading in a 03 evo f0r a brand new MR its the same car..........and for 40 grand , **** them , mitsubishi is guna start kissen *** when they start to go into bankrupcy....the only car they make that anybody wants is and evo..........every other car they make is ****. They even droped out of WRC this year......why.........because there poor so F them... the stuff that makes a

sorry to bring up such an old thread... I work for an insurance agency for Farmers. A client of ours recently bought an 06 Evo IX MR and i was like "that's cool, how much you pay?" He said after tax and all that crap, he paid like 43k out the door. I was freakin shocked! I was like "you paid 43k for the evo?" he said proudly "yeah, this thing is frickin fast though, I think it's worth it".... I asked him if he shopped around and looked at everyone's prices. He said "no, I just went to the closest mistu dealership and bought the first evo MR in the grey i wanted"... dealerships suck and will rip you if they can and dont think you know any better. He seemed so happy though, so i did'nt want to ruine his fun, so i congratulated him on his new car and sent him on his way...

 

Yeah I can get an MR for $32000 and an RS for $25,000 SO I may get an RS.

 

Where can you get one for that price?

And are you having a hard time making up your mind or something? Every other post is you are gonna keep the 03 and then you talk about getting a IX again
