7 pounds sounds like a carbon fiber or fiberglass recaro like pole position or other...

try changing the way u sit. with stock recaros u kinda need to get into a proper sitting position to distribute ur back's pressure on the seat evenly. play around with tilting the seat back a lil (not get-o drive style). if u sit properly in it, it feels really comfortable even on long rides. i never wanna get outta the car after i park it.

yeah, I was playing with my tilt to find a good comfy position but still struggling. And I never drive in a "ghetto" drive position, not even in a auto. However, I've tried sitting upright with a small pillow as a back-rest behind my lower back.

My local chiropractor is telling me not to drive for a long time
whats funny is my RECARO SRD felt comfy and didnt give me any aches before. The pain is only my left lower back, not left and right.

it might actually help to tilt back some more. this way the weight of ur upper body is not on ur lower spine but instead ur back will be half-laying on the seat. i have a problem sitting too upright, so i try to tilt back as much as possible while still being able to touch the top of the steering (steering tilted all the way down). Since i don't hold the steering on top gangsta style, but at 9 and 3, i never have to reach out and my back is comfy. it's somewhere between get-o and normal driving position lol. looking from the side, the headrest is about 1-2 inches behind B pillar. for autox i usually put the seat up though. try sliding ur butt back and forth till the curve of ur upper back matches that of the seatback and ur lower back just touches the lower part that sticks out.
