tighten the wastegate actuator?
ive been reading to eliminate some boost taper making the rod tighter on the wastegate actuator will help.
What is the downside to doing this does boost come on slower or anything like that, otherwise why wouldent it just come stock like that

Don't mess with it, man. YOu keep asking so many crazy newbie questions. Just leave that stuff alone and do normal mods. Don't go crazy. The stock turbo naturally tapers, so just get an MBC to eliminate the factory ECU-controlled taper, then enjoy your newfound power. There's no way to fully eliminate all the taper due to the turbo's inefficiencies.
So Warr -
The 4g63 that is on the Evo flows a hell of a lot more than the older 4g63 on the 1 & 2gs right? I remember that the original turbo with the 2g - the t2small (t-25)- did the same taper because the turbo ran out of breathe in the higher rpms.
Now there was a WGA offered for that turbo to stop that supossed very problem, just like forge offers something simular now for the stock EVO turbo. What I have a problem finding out is if there is anyone out there that tried it and did it work? Or is it that the turbo is so inefficient that if you could keep the WGA closed it would still taper off because it can't continue to make that same PSI with the volume of air at redline as it does in lower rpms. Some had said that at higher rpms the volume of air passing through was pushing open the WGA because the spring wasn't strong enough to hold it closed at higher rpms.
Do you know if this is what happens? Or what the hell is the damned truth?
