Not a bad idea. WOW, there is so much to take in, where do I start. From reading certain posts on this forum, it seems that I should stay away from BOV's and CAI's. I am actually leaning towards a Vishnu package...I just don't have enough time to research it right now with my thesis

same here. alot of peope have told me not to go with a cai and a bov......my question is why not a recirc bov(greddy type s)? i am looking into buying a evo asap and i would like to get the stock feel to it and then start to modify but i would not like to get the wrong performance parts and have my car driving like ****

the power packages that people (like Buschur and Warrtalon and Vishnu and AMS) have taken the time to research and put together are the best way to go for several reasons:
1) They are proven combinations of mods, generally without unnecessary crap
2) They are pretty well backed by the company that puts them together and sells them
3) You can be tuned for everything all at once, which is significantly better than adding/tuning/adding/tuning, etc...
and probably the most important:
4) You get a much better deal buying things as a package than buying everything individually.

I don't recommend the AMS stages. They are out of date and do not provide a good combo of mods. Plus, that would be much more expensive than going my route. However, if you're going with huge mods to the point of upgrading engine internals like you said and are going to pick a piggyback, then you need to make that decision now. My packages come with a flash included, but if you're going with a piggyback, you need to choose it. AMS doesn't have a piggyback either (SAFC doesn't count), so neither of us accommodate your situation directly. If you're interested in slowly building up while getting the right parts, then I suggest my package with a flash. Then, when you move forward to the next stage (cams and LICP), you can start thinking about your piggyback choice. Many people using piggybacks still like to have a base flash of some sort so that there is a nice, even template to work with and so that they can get all the flash features in case they are not all available through their piggy back (launch control, fuel cut removal, raise rev limiter, etc).
i see what you mean now. well i had been told that and they were probably thinking i was getting a 9, but more than likely getting a 8 since i wont have all the money and i hate payments.......i am thinking of going with bpu mods first....intake, dp, exhaust, test pipe, greddy type s bov to replace the plastic one, walbro255 fuel pump, clutch and flywheel
then i will go with 680 or 720 cc injectors, fmic, fuel rail, internals, cams and cam gears and wait for the break in period so i can go with a bigger turbo. my goal is 600awhp, but tuned for daily at 500awhp. i will be going with aem ems, so this is something i look into doing all in at most 2 years. it seems long, but time passes quick........
on stock turbo, i am hoping to hit 400awhp with all the mods except turbo. i am trying to but all my parts from one place only and all the work will be done by me and sgpracing in houston.......i see in your package that flash will come with it, but for this will i need to send my ecu? i have also been told this aswell, that i have to send in my ecu to get it flashed....how will it work with your package? if you can hit me up on pm so i can talk to you some more. i am very interested in knowing more about the way flash works and how much it would be to hit the 400 mark and how much to hit the 600 mark.....
thanks

Yes, you send the ECU via mail if you're getting a mail-in flash. Dynoflash Al was just in Houston recently where he custom tuned a bunch of Evos. I think he's coming back soon to Dallas on April 1st/2nd, too.
I can give you the route to 400whp on the stock turbo, but it won't include those expensive things you mentioned (fmic, fuel rail, internals, injectors). If you are going to go for a big turbo (GT35r) with AEM EMS in hopes of 500whp daily on pump gas, you will not want to be buying 680/720cc injectors. That would be a waste, since you'd have to buy bigger injectors later, and you don't need injectors on the stock turbo to begin with. If you want more details, feel free to PM me. There's also no reason to get an intake when you do BPU, nor is there any reason to be so married to the Greddy BOV...
