Mitsubishi generally makes SOHC which we all know isn't perfect for performance. The only DOHC V6 motor they made was in the old Mitsubishi Diamantes and Mitsubishi 3000gt. It was a DOHC 3.0 Liter that was designed to compete with the toyota supra, 300zx, Rx7 etc...they made the twin turbo version of that DOHC V6 that put out 320 hp. However, till this day...the highest horsepower while reliable 3000gt twin turbo sits at 650-700 awhp. Not great...the Evo's 4G63 has been in the states for 3 years and ams has already squeezed 926 awhp out of a 2.3 stroker.

IIRC, some of the B5 Audi S4 (2.7 tt v6) guys are running ~24 psi on stock internals... nobody has really built the bottom end (or at least gone public with the results). They are somewhat limited production, so there is not nearly as much aftermarket research available as with the 4g63. The biggest limiting factor with those cars is space. If you want to mount turbos much bigger than stock you have to rework the whole induction system.

Nonetheless, I would not be surprised to see a few running 40+ psi in drag applications in a few years.

That is not true. Worldwide, they have made plenty others. We've discussed them in this thread.

If you google DOHC, MIVEC, V6 you'll come across all the others, even a rare 1.6L V6.

No. At least Ray Pampena has done 833 out of his. BOZZ's T-88 car had a similar rating.

The Lotus Elise was born for ultimate agility... the Lancer Evolution was born to win WRC, which requires a balance of at the limit handling, beyond the limit handling, and rapid acceleration.
