If the Evo had a V6 engine instead of a 4 cyl, would it greaten it's abilities? Like would it go faster and have much less turbo lag?

weight distrubution would be even MORE effed up though. Think if they put in a straight six they'd need a rear transaxel to keep the balance.

I think that's kind of like saying "what if a Skyline or a Supra had a V-8?" - the cars are what they are because of the engine.

What if a CRX had a 300hp VQ35?

I mean, I sorta get where you're comin' from, but the fact that the new MIVEC V-6 in the GT Eclipse is only putting out 260-ish hp should be a clue.

It's bad enough Mitsubishi trashed the eclipse by putting a v6 in the 3g, If they do that to the Evo X, then they will really go under!!

If the EVO had a V6 it wouldnt be an evo, it woudlnt of ever won a wrc championship, it would never of been rallied, it would of been a cool car for the first couple years it came out, but I don't think it would be anything close to where it is now....

Scorke

p.s. show me a v6 that can take 40+psi

Remember the Evo was/is consider a rally car. And the specs for rally is 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder engine. Might be wrong thou.

Yes, but the 04-05 BMW M3 has a V-6 putting out 333 HP. Aggressive tuning could give a non-turbo six cylinder Evo more HP than a turbo 4 cylinder. I don't know whether a V-6 is more difficult to modify, though.
