I think water injection would really reduce the knock.

That is flat out wrong. There are way too many pontificators on this site. I think his screen name is G20 on SoCalEvo.Net, but he has a GT35 tuned by Scot Gray putting down 400whp (DynoJet) on 91. Yeah, it spools late but he has no complaints.

thats not true. Plenty of Evos running 500+ on stock tranny, look at chris from penasacola, he was making over 600whp on the stock tranny and he was racing his car constantly, we have a few high hp evos here in fl with STOCK tranny

No, no. I'm sorry. THe 350 whp number is for an 8 with all the bolt ons. Most dyno around 330-340, but there have been a handful to put down 350 in cooler weather. THe 365 whp is the highest Tuning Technologies has had (IIRC) for an 8 on the stock turbo, but I don't think it was a conservative tune. For example, Shiv's tunes are more conservative than others.

Ok, well take those numbers on an 8, apply this to a 9 and add water injection. You're getting pretty close to 400whp now. That was my point from the beginning.

We've made 370whp (on our DD dyno) on CA91oct before. This is 410-420whp on a Dynojet. But this required some work: Stg 2 turbo kit (GT3071), sheet metal intake, 280 cams, cam gears, full exhaust and test-pipe. The car was, by far the strongest, pump gas car we've seen. It just so happened to be mine

I'm confused, water injection doesn't add anywhere close to 50 whp. Does alky even add that much? Or are you talking about the increased HP the 9's have been showing with the same mods + water injection?

Yes. Just look at the IXs with BPU doing 345-360whp on straight 93oct whereas an equivalently-modded VIII would do 300-3310whp. It's sickening. The 330whp I put in my sig with the WT/BR package is on the conservative side apparently. So, then add WI to the 91oct and you have your 35-50whp over the VIIIs at TT...

Ah ok, I understand what you are saying.

Unfortunatly this is all ricer math until we see both-cam upgraded 9's on cali 91. Should be interesting to see results!

water injection does not add horsepower, it allows you to tune more agressively by cooling the cylinders. this would allow you to run much leaner than normal at higher boost.

You can say that bout almost any mod, with almost any mod it allows you to tune more agreesively. So I would say it is the alk kit that adds hp.
