Bad vendor around here

I have US$1000,oo flying in my pocket and decided to buy a Ralliart intercooler pipe kit.

I contact Z1 Performance to buy this part since I thought he was a nice vendor.
For my surprise he simply do not accept foreign customers without a bank transfer. I never had to do bank transfers when I bought from 500whp.com, japanparts.com, summit racing, ravspeconline.com and many others, I simply use my international credit card.

Since Z1 told me that the negotiation would be risky for him, I asked my friend who lives in USA to buy from him since he is a US resident and have an Evo too. FOR my SURPRISE, Z1 blocked the negotiation with my friend just because my friend would send me the part.

I simply can not beleive that Z1 blocked the negotiation alleging that he would send me the part.

I'm a little upset because my car is all Ralliart modded and the last part to buy is the intercooler pipe kit.

If someone knows another place needing US$1000,oo for a Ralliart intercooler pipe, please let me know

Wow I am suprised. Usually businesses are wanting your money. However, I guess its his loss. So where do you live if you dont mind me asking? And the amount you have converts into 1000usd?

In all honesty, it doesn't matter who buys the part, nor what that customer does with it. Now you know whom not to do business with, as well as tell your friends whom not to go to.

International shipping can sometimes be a pain in the ***. Maybe he just wasnt that interested in doing the deal. Sounds perfectly respectable to me although not the greatest business move.

The only problem I see here is there was no statement about no international orders from Z1.

It's unfortuente, but there are plenty of dealers that can ship overseas

maybe he is more worried about fraud or may have had a fraud incident and doesn't want to make another risk again. I mean there are people out there who put a stop payment on their credit card or reverse charges after they bought something and the vendor get stuck with all the hassle of filing claims.

Well, I for one have had positive relations with Z1 and Adam. He was communicative when I placed my order and followed through with delivery ahead of expected time when the parts were received when on back order.

I don't see the point of a whiney thread which pretty much reads, "boo hoo, this vendor isn't treating to me right." It's a simple fix. Just go elsewhere. I'm not saying that I don't sympathize with you, but it's not the most amazing thing in the world that a vendor doesn't want to ship out of the US and chooses not to do business when a third party becomes involved. I'd think it was weird that you tried to arrange through a friend to buy something from me even after I directly told you 'no'.

I've met Adam at Z1 personally and have dealt with him before. To the best of my knowledge he's a great vendor. Maybe he was burned before by someone and is uber careful now.

I'm sure Adam (Z1) has his reasons. IMO he has always been very helpful and I consider him one of the better vendors out there.

I've outlined our company policy many times in PM to you - it is very simple. If you are overseas, payment must be done via bank transfer. We do not accept credit cards on the first transaction with an international customer, nor do we accept 3rd party billing from a friends credit card. This is done to protect against fraud, and chargebacks, and is not a personal statement against you, your friend, or anything of the sort. As I explained, once we have a few transactions under our belt together, perhaps we would accept a credit card from you directly - but we certainly cannot and will not do it on the first transaction.

We used to be fairly carefree about accepting transactions like this, but we have been burned more times than I care to remember, so unfortunately, that is the genesis of the policy.

Again, it's a case where a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch, but unfortunately, that is the way it is.
