Would you help a evo in need?????
I would stop no matter what. GF can eat my @ss, work can wait. When my brother is in need, he's in need. Bros before h0es...
That goes for EVO, STI, SRT4, Rustang, whatever...
Karma: it goes around. Hopefully, one of these days it'll get back 'round to me.

What a long night.
First off I went to meet up with Anthony and Crystal to have dinner at TC. Afterwards he and I headed to Tommys to pick up Anthonys birthday present. After that we headed home and I watched a movie there.
When I left I was driving down the feeder of the beltway in the left hand lane. I was waiting at a light and I see a Yellow Evo pass in front of me and then suddenly go up in smoke. The guy put his hazzards on and got out. Luckily since I was in the left lane I pulled over behind him to check things out and offer help to my fellow Evo brother. He popped his hood and the engine seemed fine. Nothing seemed wrong above but there was oil or something and metal shards all over the freeway behind him. He asked if I'd help him push it out of traffic. I went and moved my car and ran back to help him. I wish I wasn't wearing flip-flops and no jacket but I wasn't going to abandon the guy. That was a ton of hell since the nearest turn-in to get his car out of the way was really far down.
He thanked me and I went and grabbed my car to angle the headlights at his engine to see the problem. By the time I got back he was too exhausted to move it anymore (we moved it really far since we had no choice). We waited for his friend to get there and bring a flashlight. Turns out he was over boosting a lot before he got tuned. His tuner told him not to overboost so much (23-24 lbs) on the stock turbo but being ignorant about that had already taken its tole and eaten away at a lot of his turbo. I told him he should of stayed at 21 lb's on 93 octane. Our turbo can't handle more than that unless you're adding Methanol, Alcohol, C02, etc whatever. Anyhow I felt really bad for the guy. he had a ton of work done to his car.
Intake, downpipe, test pipe, catback, ported head, aem ems, mbc, camshafts, cam gears and a lot of tuning done to his car. Id guess he'd spent around 8000 dollars in mods and tuning.
His friend finally arived and brought a flashlight to check things out. The turbo had popped. Hopefully that is all it was and will be more of an excuse to upgrade and he can look back and laugh at this. I looked over at his friends car and its a new 350z ...... with an intercooler
His friend Chris was really ****ing cool and funny. He was a big black guy who was like "damn Jason, I hope you know I was on a date before I came here. No one was home and I was just putting in a movie." The guy cracked me up. I asked him for a ride and damn hes twin turbo making like 350whp on 5 lb's of boost. Not bad at all but he hasn't even gotten minimal bolt-on's yet! He took me to Jack in the box and we made jokes about the speaker system they had. I didn't get anything! But Chris was hungry and Jason wanted eggrolls.
(fyi, chris is the Z owner and jason was the evo owner)
We came back and chilled a while and talked about our ride up there. I finally got Jason to laugh. Poor guy! I felt so bad for him. I tried calling my emergency help line and see if I could get some towing at a good price for Jason, its free for me but only on my car. But! the lady on the line couldn't do that. However she gave me a bunch of numbers to call and ask for rates, etc.
I took off around midnight and they were still chilling and waiting on a tow truck.

On a somewhat related note, what do you guys keep with you in the car in case of emergencies? Right now all I have is a flashlight. No tools, no jumper cables, no flares - nothing else (apart from the spare and jack which I'll count as a given). Is there that one necessity you never go without?
Also, because I'm too lazy to look it up, if I ever need a tow, do I have to make sure it's a flatbed?
