Vishnu or AMS?

(From stock) Would you go with:

-Vishnu Stage 1 Plus (v390) w/signature exhaust
http://www.vishnutuning.com/evo_Stage1_v390.htm

or

AMS Stage I & II + the new clutch that is inevitable :/
http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...2fb2cd35cf519a

I think if I went with the AMS setup, Id get the Exedy clutch since it's sold at a pretty discounted price, but that extra $1k is still alot of money...

Anyone have experience with either of these setups? Reccomendations?

I think ams should include the downpipe and race pipe in there stage 1. However, is this was me and your looking for the cheapest route I'd go with Buschar/Warrtalon package.

I have the AMS stage 1/2 with the twin plate exedy clutch.
The car is great all around and has a ton of power, but I'm sure if you went with the Vishnu you would get very similar power as well. Check out Buschur as well if you haven't.

I just wanted to say that the clutch is absolutely amazing. It hooks very well and isn't hard to disengage at all. It just hooks though, and I love it. My personal opinion just thought I'd share my experience with it.

In the end I went with AMS because they're local to me, so I can easily visit them if I have any problems, which I haven't. If anyone is local to you, I'd definitely recommend weighing that into the decision as well.

goodluck!

I ran the stage one and two for over a year, with the STOCK clutch. I got about 27k out of the stock setup, before, I had to replace. This included over 10k of track miles at HPDE events all over the SE.

Ask anyone around here, I am not easy on the car, I am brutal, and the car kept coming back for more.

Now, if you plan on dragging, the clutch would be more necessary, but for simple day to day, and open-tracking, then you should be fine on the stock one.

If you want to see some vids, go to www.opentrackers.com, or go to the AMS vids page, and look for their road race vid, if you want to see the car in action.

AMS, all the way! Do some searching on both vendors. You'll come to the same conclusion as me.

Hey guys, I'm leaning toward AMS but thought I'd post this thread to see if anyone had anything to sway me toward Vishnu. Thanks for the replies

Are you trying to save money or going all out on the stage 1 and 2?

Just look at Warraton's/Buschur package, it looks really good to tell you the truth, I will probably be going that path. You can also ask him, stay safe man!

I have AMS stage 1-3 without the injectors or clutch yet....I dont drag/launch the car much often so no need for me to get one yet as the stocker holding up pretty good....AMS makes great parts and the quality is as well......Not that the other vendors dont make good parts but if you were gonna drop $2300 bux this is what i would get...

AMS TBE - $949.95
CAMS - $600
MBC - $50-$100
AFC/FlASH - $200
Walbro 255 - $100

Total $1930

I have an AFC with an AMS tune and those exact mods and I put down 321whp 304 tq....I would go AMS, you could probably save a $150-$200 depending on what type of deals you can get on the cams. good luck with your choice, i think you can probably get better numbers if you were to get a flash instead of an AFC

This really isn't a good comparision since the Vishnu stage 1+ includes cams. A better comparision would be the AMS stage 3. I had a Vishnu stage 1+ and its really good. If you're located some what close (days drive) to AMS then I would go w/ them. If your in the middle of nowhere then Vishnu stage 1+ w/ XEDE or reflash would probably yield better results. Both are good companies and you can't go wrong w/ either .

One good thing about Martin, and folks, is they will work with you on making sure you get the tune you want, for what you want. Like for me, Martin did a Custom AMS flash for open-tracking. I am sure their will be others who will get the same thing, however, for him to go out on a limb, for one customer, and create this was truly commitment to custmer service.

Besides, you may get to ride in the new tow van....../que A-team music here/ .
