PLX m300 installation- need help

I'm installing my plx m300 today.

all I have to do is ground it (black wire) and find a power source.

I was wondering if those who've done this already, which wires they used to do the power and where they've grounded.

I'm planning on grounding it on the left side of the steering wheel, where there is that bolt on the metal part.

I don't know where to do the power though. It says to use the ignition power wire.

I don't know which one that is and I don't know if that supplies more than 3 amp of power, consistantly.

Help will be... well, helpful.

lol

thanks.

I use the RRE ECU diagram. Ignition pin is 82, chassis ground pin is 26. Good luck.

you just hard wired it?

I'll do that.

You know, the plx m300 fits so perfect where the clock is. Only thing is that there isn't enough clearance on the back of it to have it flushed...

it's a shame....

pin 26 is the ground.

You can't just use the cig lighter ground for this? and power?

Do you know what color?

I pmed zeus and he told me the samething, to use the cig lighter wires.

ok, not working.

i hate wiring.

need the ground on ecu and need to verify if the green wire coming out of the cig lighter is what I need...

I have the red wire from plx to green wire and black wire to the black with a bit of gold color wire on the ecu...

Its really not that hard to ground it. The whole frame and all metal connecting to it is a ground. Get a self tapping screw and screw it down, or tap off one of your other gauges.
Good luck.

That's how I usually ground things but it said to tap the ground wire, so I've tapped the ground wire.

Thanks by the way, I got it hooked up, it's working.

But now, I have another problem. p0117 code. I must of tapped one of the wrong wires and the car now wont start up... as soon as it starts up, the fan goes off.
