*Quick oil question!!*
ok so i saw a thread that said not to use the Advanced or Extended performance mobil one fully synthetic oil and that it said not to use it with turbochaged cars ont he back of th botte.
i have a bottle in my hand and it doesnt say that anywhere.
also, i called the number on the back and he says its ok, im just double checking, is it ok or not?
the bottle says "advanced supersyn system" and "extended performance" and "guaranteed protection for 15000 miles"
thanks!

well the thing is, its already in my car, and has been for maybe 1000 miles. but i saw the thread that said his engine blew under extremely normal cicumstances and a few people say not to use it, i think a couple said that its perfectly fine
If you read through that thread the engine was most likely running lean. The oil was not what caused the problem. If it makes you feel better just change it out with something else. IMO that oil is fine. It probably is not recommended for turbochargers because it will not last 15000 miles in our engines. They just say that to cover their a$$es.
Its probably fine, but if it makes you feel better, it is not that big of a deal to just change it out just in case. Did you put that oil in there, or did an oil change shop?

Factory fill Mobil 1 I believe is perfect for the EVO.
From my experience with it in the past, it is made from a really good base, and has a good additive package for newer motors, if you keep running with it from the purchase of your auto.
With that said, it tends to brown much quicker than other oils, but remains carmel color for a long time (personal indicator of good oil). When it goes smelly (gas smell from running rich) or pitch black, then its time to change it.
As with a lot of oils, I believe you can change your oil 'too' often. A fresh additive package that hasn't been heat cycled through your motor I think does more harm than good. That's conjecture, but it comes under the assumption of if "its not broken, don't fix it." Typically based off color and smell, I get about 4k to 5k out of a Mobil 1 fill.
If I were to add something for better oil and lubrication in general, I'd go for an accusump.

damnit people, use factory oil, do you think you'll notice any difference if you use different oil? if you do then you should have your head examined.
do yourself a favor and use factory recommended oil for your stock engine internals
