*Quick oil question!!*
MOBIL 1 SUCKS NO MATTER THE WEIGHT OR TYPE. END THIS DISCUSSION!!! ALL U TIGHT AZZ'S SPEND A DOLLAR/QT. MORE AND UPGRADE TO RP,REDLINE,AMSOIL, ETC. AND DO UR MOTOR A FAVOR. PLUS ALL THOSE MOTOR OILS MENTIONED WILL BLOW MOBIL-1 OUT OF THE WATER AND LAST A HELL OF LOT LONGER!!!
mobil-1 was in my car for 1500 miles, then i switched to redline(my personal pref.)
mobil-1 is the bottom of the barrel synthetic. if u plan to drive ur evo under normal conditions and hardly any boost, then ur a life long mobil-1 supporter. but if u demand more from ur car upgrade and
. also, if u plan to go longer between changes, upgrade.

Nothing wrong with Mobil 1 Extended Performance. I wouldn't go the extended drain intervals it's advertised for because I like my oil to be fresh and clean but it should be perfectly fine for your car.
The EP has more detergents in it to make it last longer when you change the oil less often - not worth the extra cost to me since I change it every 3K miles or after a track event anyway. Again, like I mentioned before - it is fine for your car. I ran it before when I didn't see the normal Mobil 1 at the store.
I think someone probably got confused with the Mobil Clean Extended line or something.

Wow....you guys need to calm down. If you really want to learn more about oil go to www.bobistheoilguy.com
After being on this site for more than a year and a half I've learned quite a bit from guys that test their oils all the time. So here is some info I've got from the site and the rest you can search out more if need be.
BEFORE the M1 extended (ext) there was just regular M1. Now, the older regular M1 had a set detergent package in it. M1 ext now has that detergent package in it and the NEW regular M1 has a slightly less detergent package in it.
What does this mean to you? The old M1 you were buying has been retagged to M1 ext. How did the site find out? From guys sending in fresh oil samples of the old regular M1, the M1 ext, and the NEW regular M1. There are a lot of guys on this site that use oil tests religiously to see at what point they need to change their oil because of break down. Typically what I've seen on there is anywhere from 5,000 - 15,000 NA or forced induction engines before the oil even starts to break down (they do change their oil filters, just the oil).
If synthetic oil broke down so easily Mac trucks would go under quick. These guys have to put in so much oil it doesn't make sense(epsecially because of how much $ it takes to change the oil) to change it often. They test it every so many thousand miles and wait to see when an oil may be close to breaking down and then change it.
Now questions have been ask about RP, RL, and other big names whether they provide better protection (on engine oils only) and the answer has been NO. However, these brands have shown you can go longer on an OIC (oil interval change) than other brands like Val, Castrol, Mobil, etc. So if you do spend the money on these motor oils, go longer between changes or you're just wasting your money.
Hell, these guys have even gone to tell you how to recognize where an oil was made, if it has the right packaged detergents, etc., etc., by just looking at the bottle.
They have also gone and test Wal-Marts synthetic brand and some have shown the same qualities as M1, coming from the same distributors, but at half the price. However the general consensus is still to change the Wal-Mart brand every 3,000-5,000.....name can have such a prominent affect on ppl.
