Hello all...I have a 06 Silver Evo and I'm going in tomorrow for a window tint job. I've narrowed it down to:

1. 50% front and 35% rear.
2. 35% front and rear.
3. 35% front and 20% rear.

I hear 3 sort of looks weird because there is not that much variance.
2 seems to be the popular and cleanest choice.
1 I hear gets less hassle from the cops.

I honestly wouldn't mind 1 because, I don't mind people sort of seeing me through the window. So people won't assume "a young ricer kid" is driving that car. BUT I haven't seen pictures w/ 50% in the front and 35% in the rear so I won't really know till I get to the shop.

I've done some research already on the board. I just want some final opinions.

I'd say #3... darkest in the back.. lighter in the front... when you backing up at night though it will be really dark because of the tint.. it will be hard to see.. but you will eventually get used to it.... what color are you gonna put? black?

 

get limo all the way around, it'll look mean. You'll get used to it too

 

I used to have 5% limo reflective black tint on my WRX. Great during really bright daylight, but most nights I had to roll my front windows down when making turns just so I could see. I got tired of it very quickly and on my Evo I went 35% all the way around and I'm much happier with it. I don't like the look of different shades of tint on the car, so I think the same tint all the way around looks cleanest.

 

2 would be the cleanest and wouldnt look out of place.

Thanks all! I really appreciate the comments! The only thing I worry about 35% all around is if it may be a tad bit dark and I may get hassled by the cops. I heard from my co-worker she got 38% tint. It looked pretty good actually.


Anonimus/Dude...I think I'm gonna get black. I'm not to sure what other colors they have out there. I know they have that platinum/silver mirror color I think I know what I'm talking about. I think I'm just gonna get normal tint

20 all around. If you get 35% you may regret it and want it darker. I've seen it happen too many times

 

Yeah I feel you. Actually I don't mind cause I don't want it too dark. Plus a light tint will offset the silver nicely and make the Evo look nice.

 

yeap.....20% on the back half and 35% up front....that's how I have it...

 

35% all around, and a 4inch strip in the front.

 

20% all around. It's not too dark, only at night time!!

 

30% all around.

 

I have always stuck with the same darkness all the way around since the light coming through the windshield always makes the front windows look lighter than they really are.

My last three vehicles were 20% on all windows except of course the windshield.
