That's an old *** movie but a good racing movie. Alot of you guys say it's a bad movie but how many good racing movies have you seen? The F&F was gay (especially Paul Walker) but lets hope F&F3 is better.

That's almost on the money. The main bad guy, the one driving the WRX, was taking revenge for the previous bad guy who was beaten by the main character in the motorcycle race (the bet was, whoever lost the motorcycle race would have one of his legs broken).
During their first race, the WRX guy rammed the main char's Evo, who had him and his gf in it, off a bridge. The main char escaped the crashed and burning Evo, but his gf didn't. The mechanic, as mentioned by ZK, was also killed by the bad guys when they tried to rebuild another Evo for their rematch.
The second race, which you see in the vid link, is the rematch. The mechanic who was killed, invented a new NOS delivery system which is supposed to be more efficient than the first (the bad guys realized this, hence he was killed).
They burned the Evo at the end in memory for his gf and the mechanic, also symbolizing he would never race again.
I could be wrong on a few things since it's been a while since I've seen it.
FYI: The movie was made a while ago, before the drift and F&F scene came into play in America. When this movie came out, it was a huge hit in Hong Kong and also here in America too amongst the asian populace.
