Some lenders provide the gap insurance free of charge, they now call it total loss coverage. I would always try to sell your vehicle first yourself because the dealership
will get you on one end or the other most of the times.
I will be likely selling my 03 Evo this year and upgrading to a ix also, and like you have
not had any problems at all. Again like yourself, I hope the new owner will take good
care of her......

The funny thing is that before I went and picked up the IX I emailed this other place and asked them what I would be looking at OTD and all he told me was to come down and we would talke it over....never gave me a price. Yet after I had already bought from somewhere else this guy has all kinds of bottom line prices and keeps emailing me about how much I got screwed and how he can't believe I fell for their trick. It really bumed me out but I figure he must be lying....if not then why didn't he offer me those figures BEFORE I bought from the other guys? I think he's full of crap. But these 2 dealerships are rivals so I expect as much.
yea, when i bought my 05 they tryed charging me for the pinstripe also and those cheap plastic clear pieces by the bottom of the door. i was like hell no. so they ended up throwing in that stuff. car dealerships are nothing but crooks when it comes to trading in or buying a new whip

If you only missed by $500, you did fine. These thing aren't exactly falling out of the sky. You got a hell of a car in color (hopefully) and trim package that you like. I know guys that "settled" for a color that they didn;t really like, but wanted an Evo.
You did fine. I always figure that if the dealer only knew what I would have paid to get the car, they'd be the ones kicking themselves for the money that they "left on the table".
Wish I had a IX :-)
