um, why would you get gap insurance through the dealer? you can get it through your own insurance company for like 5 bucks extra a month.

Some lenders provide the gap insurance free of charge, they now call it total loss coverage. I would always try to sell your vehicle first yourself because the dealership
will get you on one end or the other most of the times.

I will be likely selling my 03 Evo this year and upgrading to a ix also, and like you have
not had any problems at all. Again like yourself, I hope the new owner will take good
care of her......

It really bumed me out but I figure he must be lying....if not then why didn't he offer me those figures BEFORE I bought from the other guys? I think he's full of crap. But these 2 dealerships are rivals so I expect as much.
Wait so he actually called you a dumass?? Thats crazy

yea, when i bought my 05 they tryed charging me for the pinstripe also and those cheap plastic clear pieces by the bottom of the door. i was like hell no. so they ended up throwing in that stuff. car dealerships are nothing but crooks when it comes to trading in or buying a new whip

I used to sell cars. Some of the punk salesmen would do this to customers when they lost a deal to try and make them feel bad. You have to look at it the way that you are. He had his chance. I'd tell him "well if you sales manager wasn't such a rube and lost the deal, they would of both had a comission checks from the deal. As it is THEY are the only ones who got nothin" .... and that's exactly what they deserve for not knowing how to handle a serious qualified buyer.

If you only missed by $500, you did fine. These thing aren't exactly falling out of the sky. You got a hell of a car in color (hopefully) and trim package that you like. I know guys that "settled" for a color that they didn;t really like, but wanted an Evo.

You did fine. I always figure that if the dealer only knew what I would have paid to get the car, they'd be the ones kicking themselves for the money that they "left on the table".

Wish I had a IX :-)
