You'll have no regrets and no problem getting use to AWD. Once you go AWD it will be hard for you to ever go away from AWD again. I love the control and confidence AWD gives the driver. The EVO is an amazing car, and you will not miss the RSX one bit. I like RSX Type S cars, they are pretty nice and no of their potential with a couple of bolt ons, but you will utterly shocked and amazed with the potential of a IX MR, it's simply amazing. It's not even a contest with any car costing under $35,000.

Oh yeah don't release the clutch too fast during shifts, and other than that it's pretty easy. I use to drive an AWD Audi and two AWD 3000GTs and the EVO is much easier to drive than both from the start.

don't be the designated driver. the ride is rough when you're drunk and feeling sick.

Take your time breaking the car in. Make sure you push the clutch in all the way every shift, or until you figure it out. Rotate the tires. After the car is broke in, start figuring out how the AWD feels/works by pushing it more and more through turns. Once you figure it out the feeling is awesome!

Sorry for stealing the thread, but I am new to driving AWD too. However, I get a vibrating/grinding feel in the clutch whenever i start out in first. I only rev up to about 1.2k to start off, so I am thinking maybe it requires more rpm since it is AWD? I thought it was weird since I came from an RSX and it never produced such a feeling in the clutch when starting in first gear.

When (not if you are going sideways, DO NOT lift off the throtle. It is hard since all your sences tell you to do it. Keep it floored and the electronis will take care of the rest. Otherwise only momentum you have is taking you out of the road...

Yes be carefull. The first time I did this when learning to drive an AWD I nearly crashed. However, now with some experience, I can essentailly launch into a drift in the situation you describe (t-street).

Also, drifting an AWD car is different in that you give it more gas in the corners to maintain control.

Haha my buddy keeps telling me to stay on the gas but I can't....i'm too scared.

Oh BTW: Using the e-brake is safe in the snow. If you do it on dry ground you better know what your doing. When you apply the e-brake the rear wheels unlock.

the ebrake thing is related to 05 and up models I believe. You would need to do a search to find out for sure but I am 99% on that one.

The best way to drive and AWD vehicle....is fast. Make sure you auto-x it or something other than drag racing to really use this cars potential. Drag racing is fun but if you do it too many times, be prepared to buy a clutch ASAP.
