you can let the clutch out fast on the shift, itll make some clunking noise in the back, but so do the sti's and wrx's. not like that will prolong the clutches life, but neither will super babying it. if its gonna break, its gonna break. might as well make some fun
the car is noisy. it clunks doing just about everything, and 2nd and 3rd will feel really notchy for a few thousand miles. im at 1700 or so, and its still noisy as hell..
best of all, enjoy it. and becareful of the advans in rain.

Let the tranny dictate when it wants to shift, esp. for 2nd gear on cold starts. Sometimes it just wont budge into gear, so be patient with it and try to rev match as much as possible until it clicks in.

OMG THAT IS SO FUNNY!
I seriously LOL'ed at work, wow that is helarious. And um definatly brake it in right, that guy is an idiot who said to do otherwise. Your clutch will be toast by 10k if you dont break it in right. Among other things..
But on a serious note, it's just a car and just drive it and you will feel the difference. I guess the only things i can say are don't think you have a super car because of AWD, you can still loose control, don't think you have a snow car because it's AWD because without winter tires this car sucks in the snow, and learn to launch right, dont make us all look bad (rev it up to the stock limiter and quick slip that biatch). Though these are all things i found out for myself, so just drive it and you wont have any questions anymore.

i would break it in, not brake it in. Sam @ SRT motoring recommends no break in as he says mitsu runs every motor before it goes in a car and if it goes pop, it doesnt go in. In any case, i gave it the manual specified 600 miles and no more. Most people will tell you a motor is broken in the first time it reaches operating temperature.
And none of us know how hard the dock workers drive our cars from the containers to the trucks.
AFTER its broken it in, drive it like its meant to be.
