Definatly don't get the Evo for the resale value...from what I researched it was pretty bad after just 1 year and the rs,base,mr were about around $1000 apart from each other.

i didnt ask if the evo was worth buying still in a year or two. i was asking how much money you think one might be worth then. like how much i could buy one for.

The depreciation on the EVO is is very bad. ACV (actual cash value) on a IX GSR is about $23,500. I am in the car business so that figure isn't something I am blowing out of my ***. I am in Phoenix AZ so that has a lot to do with it as well. We sell cars here all year long (no rain or snow) and the dealers give cars away in order to stay competitive. When you give away a car that just hurts the resale value of it down the road.

I don't know what your talking about. My Evo is 3 years old w/40,000 miles and I have people beating down my door to buy it for $20,000. I paid $30K for it brand new. 3 years old with high miles and its still retaining 66% of its value?! You can't complain about that.

Word. Value is held well because of the demand and AWD IMO. My friends Type S lost more value percentage wise than my EVO has so did my Integra and they say Honda is the best in resale

ok, i dont get how what i said sounds like i asked if it was worth it or not to get an evo, but nice try. and also if u read my post correctly, u would have also noticed that i asked about an 03 not an 05.

thanks to everyone else who is helping me answer my questions though but besides that, im getting mixed answers. from the way it has been dropping in price, (03 can be picked up for between 20-23k) how much do you think it will cost on a year or two

You are WAY off! I sell cars as well and watched for months what they are bringing at the auction. They DO hold their value! They are the only Mitsu that does .

From my experience seeing used Evos on my lot and what we take them on a trade in, etc, they drop about 7% per year. There is NO initial depreciation when the car is taken off the lot, unlike most cars.

Example, 6 months ago, we sold a 2003 with 24,000 miles for $24,000. That's a $6,000 depreciation over 3 years, or 6.66% per year.
