the noise isnt normal...iv never heard this before they messed it up.... iv also ridden on my friends 03 evo and it was perfectly quiet... the other dealerships just denied my warranty when i was stock so i cant imagine what they would say with my catback...oh and my cars misfiring again for the 4th time... My adjustable HIDs are going up and down sometimes without me touching it...and my Front defrosters dont work...it was horrible trying to go through snow with all your windows fogged up...

I think you just need to accept the fact that a large percentage of Mitsubishi dealers do not know how to fix an evo drivetrain. There are a few good dealers and techs out there, but they are few and far between.

The day I bought my evo I fully aknowledged that any engine/trans/tcase/differential work would be done by someone who can properly diagnose the car and fix it, even if I had to pay for the work with a full warranty intact.

I know that doesnt help, but the only way your going to fix your problem is to take your car to a dealership that knows what they are doing. Even if that means driving your car, shipping it, or shipping parts. If they cant fix it the fourth time, they wont be able to fix it the fifth.

Is there a awd dyno take it there, then you don't have to worry about a speed limit.

Which dealership did you take it to, Ball Mitsu, or El Cajon?

That's a pretty bad experience.

I used to have an STI, they are pretty good in terms of service, I had a full TBE and reflash and nobody ever questioned me.

perhaps i should state that...the problem with the whine started when the dealership put the wrong oil in my TC...so they replaced it...and it came back with a different noise...so it was never my fault
doubt that. driver no doubt.

They said they talked to him about it and he said if the noise is heard above 65 miles an hour so i cant do anything about it... hes just gonnna have to live with the whine. he told me to call them next month! NEXT MONTH!!! to schedule an appointment to get this looked at for the last time while my warranty is still in effect. this is insane...i dont race my car and all i have is a catback (bought so that it would hide the whining noise, but it didnt work) i really do love this car but the problems are costing me more money to fix the car then to enjoy it... my honest opinion with how mitsubishi is treating me...il never buy another evo again. its hard for me to say that because....the evo has been my dream car since i was a kid.... I hope i can find someone to buy this evo from me so i can buy an STi... They may not "handle" or respond to mods as well as evos do but if its working fine...then thats the car for me. My sister drives a modded STi and they dont care about her mods. The new STi is deff my next car...sorry mitsubishi... you just tore my dreams up..... sorry for the rant...please dont flame me...if u were in my situation, u would to

what kind of whining noise are you referring to, i have one on first gear and a little bit on 2nd, is that what you mean? or is it a noise on higher gears and speeds?
