Our perception of "Sleeper" cars

I was wondering if having a stock looking EVO would get picked on more so than a visibly modded one???

The reason being is that I'm thinking of painting my muffler flat black to hide the stainless muffler....

Will I have a better chance of people trying to race me??

Anybody who sees a big winged car who is a reckless racer will try to race you. The flat black would probably throw off the cops though. This assuming your car isnt stupidly loud.

At the track, people race you no matter what your muffler looks like. Are you having people refuse to line up against you at the track?

If you take off your wing, debadge and paint your exhaust flat black at a glance your look like a regular lancer. It when you see the FMIC and vented hood thats a dead giveaway. When i was wingless no one looked at my car and no one tried to race me. Now with the wing installed that all changed

No it isn't. In fact, there's a shop that'll take your stock muffler, gut it and mail it back to you (forgot which one).

To the original poster, I would actually think that keeping it stock would get you left alone. From my own perspective, I'd perceive a bone stock car to have a driver who doesn't want added attention nor increased HP or speed. It's kinda like trying to play a game with someone who doesn't want to play at all.

I like sleeper cars simply because they keep The Fuzz of ya booty!
