you,ll need a tune with the intake because you,ll be running too lean. and if you did SEARCHES you would get more tech answers than your gonna get right now, believe me. good luck

Damn! What was I thinking?

YES, GET THE K&N TYPHOON. Forget the Injen!

- HKS SSQV vented to atmosphere (WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!)
- K&N Typhoon (typhoons are fast - zwooooooooooooop!)
- No tune ups (your spark plugs and plug wires should be fine still)
- Don't forget the turbo timer!
- I would also suggest adding a Carbon Fiber Vortex Generator if you have any cash left

Ricers unite!

Thanks, basically I want a nice sound car. The Evo is already a powerful car without any mods.

They are messin with you man. If you get an intake, you pretty much need a tune. If you are 100% set on an intake, just get a K&N drop in filter. As far as a BOV, stick to recirculattion. Look at the Forge RS or the JDM MR or 06 Evo Valves, they will both hold boost better than the plastic stock vlave.

If you just want sound..... dont do either.

So why shouldn't Warrtalon's BS posts be deleted? He's encouraging someone to do things that will screw up his car.

Hey mods, how about some deletes in this thread?

Now, to the topic. Only replace the BOV if it's leaking. The Evo BOV vents back into the intake NOT to the atmosphere. You can screw up your car with surge, etc. And no intake is needed. A K&N drop-in or similar is perfect.

OK.......

First Warr is messing with you because there are 412 treads out there that explain why the HKS BOV is the worst BOV for our cars. it will give you drivabily problems if its not being recirculated. I.E. stalling. You need a BOV that vents back into the car not the air. Forge RS seems to be the popular one right now here is a link for you : http://www.500whp.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=26_37_53 . but if you NEED the sound of a BOV, APS makes one that does both vents into the air and recirculates into the intake here is a link for that : http://ttp-engineering.com/catalog/p...cecc879adcb598 . Second, every one is messing you because there are 346 thread out there on why the stock intake is good for our cars until Higher HP. but if you have to have one you will need a tune after because it will also give you drivabilty issues but you will be able to hear you recirculating BOV better (dont get the K&N typhoon). here is a place to get your car tuned for your intake : http://www.dynoflash.com/indttm.htm

good luck with you car and yes this is what the forum is for but just try and search for your answers before you post a question next time

you're headed in the right direction. don't forget to checkout the widebody kit I've seen pictures of a couple evos with the kit on it and wow, it turns heads. which seems to be the main goal. so you might want to go with a large exhaust tip to match your other race car sounds.

The HKS bov is fine as is the Injen intake. Take a look at buying th HKS EIDS to smooth out your MAF signal if you run VTA.

Alot of these guys are a**holes, dont listen to them.

And alot of them like buying the cheapest parts possible, since they were broke after buying the car. So if you have money to buy more expensive parts

My opinion would be to get the Forge RS (you can still hear it very well with an aftermarket intake) and intake you can pretty much get whatever you like except the K&N Typhoon.

Also check out the dyno results on the WR secret weapon intake, this was on a SRT-4, no #'s for Evo right now but i'm assuming should be very good also.
