Swapping ECUs

My buddy asked me if you could swap ecus in an evo in the sense that he wants to have two ecus, one flashed for pump and a second for race gas. It is an 03 evo and the ecus are 03 as well. I believe that it shouldn't be a problem but just wanted to check if anyone knew a definitive answer. Only thing that I was thinking maybe a problem is something to do with security and key of the car.

I just recently got the local dealership to flash my immobilizer to the ECU (elhalisf was a little misguiding as he said they would program the ECU to the immobilizer, but rather they program the immobilizer to the ECU...if the ECU were programmed to the immobilizer, then the "old" and "new" ECU would be interchangeable, which they aren't). I paid $170.95 for them to set the immobilizer to work with my "new" ECU.

Who knows, my dealership is an God-awful place, so maybe they overcharged.
