Larger than stock wheels...

I just had a question... do larger than stock wheels (18") affect handling and cornering of the evo? assuming same kind of tires, ofcourse.

thanks.

Larger (and if heavier) wheels will decrease acceleration and braking performance. If the wheels are wider it should make the car handle better (more grip).

you should look in the wheel tire sus forum there is a thread discussing this.

larger wheels and heavier wheels will decrease accel and braking performance but will get you better gas mileage.

larger lighter wheels will get you something inbetween.

more wheel does nothing without more tire.

tires like to be in a trapezoidal shape with the contact patch being the short end of the trapezoid.

lower profile tires flex less and will make your turn in sharper.
