Believe it or not I still find that article to be a compliment. The only real negative thing he said was the car is ugly... but thats completely subjective and every person in that area will think something completely different.

well depends on the 2000+ eclipses maybe, but with my old DSM 98 eclipse. it was a breeze. handbrake baby! amongst other things

 

I dunno, I dont think our cars look that bad, infact the way it looked was one of the reasons I bought it. Of course, thats just my personal opinion.

 

Yeah I absolultely love the way my car looks. I get an incredible amount of compliments on it too!

Wow, such a funny coincidence... I was just gonna post this.

So this morning my boss comes in and throws this article on my desk (im copying some papers) and as I walk back to my desk I say "What is this?" he than tells me "Tell me more about this car, it's not the one you have?" So I walk over and notice the huge red spoiler and lights and said "Nah, this is the evo, I have a ralliart". He than said "So it's not the same car?" and I said "Nah, it's a more high performance car than mine. The biggest addition are awd and turbo". He than said "Is it faster than that blue car you have?" and I said "yeah, the evo is 5spd or 6spd... the g is an auto". He than said "Tell me about the warranty, is it true... 10years or 100,000miles' and I said "Yeah, it's a very good warranty, I have it on my car, but if you have an evo... good luck having mitsu cover some parts". He than said "Hell, my bmw is still in the shop... I think I wanna go back to japanese". I than made this face.... . I said "No, you can't get this car before me... that's not fair. He just back to his office.

Good article, but man did they take some stabs at the car.

 

awesome article. besides the people who know what the Evo is and what it's capable of, most ppl out there do think the Evo's ugly. as the author said, most cars with this kind of performance capabilities are sleek and low and wide, while the Evo is basically a box with a pissed-off front end. this is the reason i love the Evo so much though; it doesn't have a "fast car image", yet it's capable of destroying fast looking cars.

the way the article was written makes me just wanna go and drive the Evo for like 15 hours straight. damn it.

 

not that bad of an article, but cmon a baby hippo shot outa a cannon? lol that was funny. i really dont think our cars are that ugly. i mean if he thinks our cars are ugly then what are those pontiac Azteks? sexy HA

 

Funny article. Definitely love the hippo shot out of a cannon comment. As for the cars looks, i think the outside is beautiful for what it is. The interior, minus the seats.... is quite lackluster IMO. The guys who designed the center console should have spent some more time on it. Same as the gauge cluster.

But this is coming from a former Audi owner. They make some of the most beautiful interiors in the world. Take the RS4 for example.

 

Yeah. When i bought my Evo after losing my modded Audi A4 due to a drunk driver, many friends who were "image driver" saw my car and were like.... "why did you buy that ugly little thing?"

I then told them to get in and put their seatbelts on. They always first noticed the tight fitting recaro seats.... then when i stomped the gas.... the response was always unforgettable.
