I have put 17,000 on my 05' in the 8 months that I've owned it and it has never given me any problems at all, but Im also pretty religious with maintenence.

 

8K on my VIII, I've had it since August, 2005. Aside from replacing some door lock thing that rattled while I got my free oil change, everything has been AMAZING. And I'm putting down great numbers. . . .

 

33k on my 2003 8. Stock clutch is long gone, but engine is still holding up strong...no problems so far. Car has been severely abused. Tranny still shifts like butter. I highly recommend using Royal Purple versus Mobil 1, your engine will thank you =)
