SCCA Trophies Again
SCCA Trophies Again
Hi everyone. Today was my first time at an autocross. I went with a friend who also has an Evo 8. Cars were stock. It was a scca solo 2 event. We got first and second place. Here is a picture. I also have a 40 sec mpeg if someone can host it. Thanks.
Nice!! Good job. What class did you run in? I went to autox today also but didn't run my Evo. I want to get a few more miles on it first. It got a TON of attention though. People were gathered around my car for 30 minutes.

Surpriising difference in pressures, you had the higher pressures, and went quicker? I guess that would make sense on an auto-cross event, as apposed to extended lapping at a track.
As for the video, if you dont find someone here to do it, you might try racingflix.com. If you go that route, make sure you let us know, I for one cant wait to see it.

Were you running in AS or in novice class? Also, I think the alignment is a big issue, as my car appears to have a slightly positive camber on the front right now, which is not conducive to handling. I like at least 1.5 degrees of negative camber on the front if possible. Will see if I can get it this week.
Good job jojo! I also did a practice yesterday and and auto -x today. Got 2nd in a street tire index class, AS, mostly due to driver error. Was faster than almost all stock classes, w/them on race rubber yesterday. Fun to pitch it way sideways after a slalom, then stomp the gas towards the next corner.
Set up for my daily driver: -1.6 maxed camber, 0 toe frt. -1 camber 0 toe rear. Upped to 40 psi frt, 32 rear. Still understeered, used left foot braking in sweepers. Went down to 1st gear for the turn around, then used the 4wd to blast out for faster times.

Fireball, you've achieved certified "kickass" status.
Thanks for hosting. I'm currently trying not to kill your server.
EDIT: And well worth the d/l.
