I've heard nothing but horror stories about adding HIDs aftermarket... Something about the housings or reflectors for halogen dispersing the beam too widely, maybe...

Anyway, thanks for all the input.

Gruppe-S sells the JDM Evo 9 MR HID Housings, Bulbs, and HID Ballasts for $1800 FYI, if the headlights are that important to you.

But would they be biased to the wrong side for the intent of being used in a RHD car?

I dont think my stock headlights are biased at all, mine appear to point straight ahead?

Maybe, but I think they are deisgned to biased away from the center line and towards the right shoulder of the road. I have heard of this being an issue for Honda guys that do JDM front end conversions on 'Tegs.

I'm not doubting you, you may be right, I have never noticed anything, I'll try and pay attention tonight (the only reson I'm so concerned is I plan to add the JDM MR housings to my setup)

Let me just say again, after driving it a bit more: I am SO GLAD I have the SSL. I really like the stereo (for a factory stereo), but even more I love opening the sun shade on the sunroof, even when the sunroof is closed, and letting in more light; it's such a cheerful way to drive having some light in the cabin. And opening up the sunroof out in the country is awesome. I would not have it any other way.

Quote: i'd buy the rawest of the bunch EVO RS!

Three models will also be available in Europe and Japan. Although all models use the same 286 hp (213 kW) engine the torque differs from an model to another, the GSR produce 295 Ft-lb (400Nm)of torque while the RS and GT Produces 300 Ft-lb (407Nm)

RS - revised 5-speed, aluminium roof, gauge pack, minimal interior, LSD and a titanium-magnesium turbine GT - revised 5-speed, this is basically the RS mechanically, but with some of the GSR's features (mainly interior pieces).

BUY THE RS!

None of that has anything to do with this. He is buying a USDM car.

Thank you sir. If I were to buy a car here it would obviously be a GTR-34

I'm glad this thread has been adressing all the small points in detail so people know just what to expect with their choice, and possibilities/problems for modding to try to even their choices out (e.g. adding HIDs etc.)

I sat in a GSL yesterday to see how much headroom was there, and looks like the .9 inch they say is sacrificed for the sunroof won't be a problem for me, so that's what I'm ordering - SSL - mainly for the HIDs....

The leather is icing on the cake, audio is a "we'll see."

Congrats to you!! I'm in limbo pending a decision on a local GSR vs. an MR for South Coast, who presently aren't returning my phone calls.
