vendor section waste of time

before you start to b|tch and moan, listen, it is so annoying that we have to "PM" every vendor to get A price on something. Most times it isn't even the best price.....just A price. Why can't they post their prices and we just go pick and choose who we want to purcase from? I'm tired of pm'ing 10 vendors and waiting for them to reply just to get a $20 saving. Anyone else feel this way?

The reason is quite simple. They dont wanna post a price and then another vendor come in and check on that price and say, I can beat that price and things like that and take their business. Example, vendor posts a shift knob for 60 bucks in their section, member sends them a pm and types u have pm i want that shift knob. If an opposing vendor who has same shift knob for sale sees price, they will see interested customers pm and maybe try to win customers business, by pming them and stating he can get the shift knob for cheaper with free shipping. Dirty way to do business, but it happens. I also like to just see a price, but this is not newspaper adds lol

It's a PITA, but most companies have rules against advertising prices below X amount. The vendors who are asking you to PM them for a price are breaking these rules and undermining the traditional distribution system. Unfortunately, it's about the only way to sell anything anymore since the internet fucked everything up.
