I guess there'e probably been a post like this before but...meh who cares. I was wondering if anyone else with an Evo (non-MR) wants to beat the **** outta your friends when they say "Why didn't you get the MR?" "It's cool but it's not the MR." "Shoulda got the MR man." ????

I myself get furious and instantly spout the very short list of differences between my car and the MR. A 6-speed (sure, that'd be nice i do actually wish i had that), an aluminum roof (ooh like ill miss that), vortex generator (if i cared i could add that for practically no cost), some nicer rims (wow cool im getting new rims anyway). Other than that only some minor bells n whistles like shift knobs and CF interior trim. I make sure to let them know the car has the same power and, if i'm not mistaken, the same times. On top of that it weighs more. So i didn't spend thousands more for this, just wait till i have an EvoX!

It's really getting annoying and I've only owned the car less than 2 weeks LOL.

 

Should have just gotten the MR.

^bwahahahahaha but anyways IMHO the mr is a waiste of mans money. Now if it was like a grand more then I wouldjump on it.

ha yea, my friend had an mr, im glad i kept the money and used it on upgrades, MR is waste of money, selling ploy imo

well i guess it's kinda cool and at least i get the respect of WRX, STi, and Evo owners

 

Hasn't happened to me. If they ask me about it, I'll just say that I would invest the extra money the MR costs in go fast goodies.

 

Does anyone know how much and MR Tranny would cost and if it would be an easy swap out from my 5-speed? haha

I got the Evo IX gsr. IMO, MR wasnt worth it to me cause I can use that money for modifications to my own liking.

Heres what I've done so far and I been happy with each one...

- KSPORT coilovers ($775)
- 9006 8000k hid kit ($240)
- sold my evo ix rims and got MR bbs rims (turn around was $400)

 

I love my RS had money left over to buy mods and help pay first car payment. MR owners think they are hot stuff in my area but then i look at the cars its complete stock...they have no damn money left. I laugh at some of the MR guys when they try and justify how much better it is than the RS or GSR.

 

FYI: the suspention is also diff. but at any rate, i also get this all the time, was it worth the $8,000 more deff not. Besides i think yours has cruise control the MR dosen't. Really its worse for me, because my initials are MR. how do think that makes me feel.....i dont care what anyone says the MR version was named after me....just like everything that Carroll Shelby had a hand in CS was on it (in Chrysler anyway.)
