I would say the MR is a nice ride, I would had gotten an MR but it did not come in black ,overall it's an evo .

but I can tell you, on the high way, if you want to re accelerate, 6 speed has better advantage, b/c of extra gear to keep the egine in powerband

i too, dont really care for the extra gear or bilstein suspension. only good thing about the MR was the limited color which was graphite grey for the 8 MR now its available as a regular color for the 9. i felt i made a wise decision purchaseing my evo 8 gsr non SSL. and yea once and while i get the why didnt i buy the MR. i also used to get that ALOT when i had my rsx and heard why didnt you just get the Type S. really you buy what you buy its your money not any one elses.

I dunno, i dont think i could own an RSX if it wasn't the Type-S lol isnt the difference in the VTEC? heh Though i see what you're saying and i feel the same way. It just gets to me when people say...aww its no the MR? ITS A GOD DAM EVO....omg lol

no evo has cruise control, but in the end its all preference and if u have the money 2 throw down for it, dotn take it personal, ask them wut they drive and see if they can beat u around the corners.

for me its cuz the MR's dont come in black. all my cars have to be black, period the 6 spd has an advantage from a roll once it's over 110 mph, cuz by then the 5 spd only has the 5th gear left, the the 6 spd still has 5th and 6th left. the 6th speed therefore has a higher top speed.

however, if u use the 4k price difference on the gsr, the gsr will easily decimate the 6spds advantage from a roll. it's all relative i guess....@_@

if the MR's came in black like they're supposed to (eg in UK), it'd be a much harder choice for me >_< i personally prefer 5 spds....kinda weird but after drivin the s2k for a while i actually like the 5spd more...but main thing for me it's the lack of black on the MR's

To each his own. I bought the MR because of the same reasons you guys didn't buy . I wanted the gg paint the six speed and the bilstiens. I liked the bbs and figured they looked just as good as a set of volks and almost as light. I figured GSR around $31k or MR at $35k wasn't that bad of a deal. It was worth it to me for the tranny the wheels and the paint(not that the paint quality is that great). This is all just my opinion, but I like having a more limited edition car, I have the only mr in the pensacola area, even though the other evo guys are the only ones that knows the difference. Plus I never get asked why I bought an MR, just kidding. But honestly if all you wanted was to go faster the RS or the GSR is by far the better deal.But you can't go wrong with any of them. At least that what is what I think, but I have been wrong before.

yea i got my gsr ssl like two weeks before the mr was out......i just couldn't wait...yea i was mad, but in the long run, im glad i didnt because of the crazy mark up they had when they came out at my dealership

I don't know what you guys are talking about? but the price for my MR IX was 34,289!
That was a good price for me and mods? just read my sig Also 03 and 04 come with 220 whp! How do I know? Well.... i tade my 04 for my o6 and I dyno them both and my MR has 265 whp!! so is a 45whp diffrent, but and the end it's an EVO GUYS!!! it's just diffrent taste and btw I don't think I am the hot shot just cuz I have an MR. Let's all have fun with the EVOS.

Personally, an SSL is "it" for me. I enjoy a sun roof, the ~50lbs is worth it to me so nullify the aluminum roof. The billstiens are cool but MR or SSL, they'll still be replaced. The 6Speed isn't going to make a significant difference outside of topspeed racing, which I don't do. The vortex generator can be purchased and the BBS rims are just boring to me. The difference isn't worth it overtime, because everything I pay a premium for is out the window minus the tranny, which I'm not hot on anyways.

Evogod; Making 45whp more had nothing to do with the fact your IX was a IX MR. A IX RS would of done the same.

You consider those BBS wheels "ricer"? LoL.... rediculous! They look far superior to my IX SSL wheels and are lighter

And regardless of whether or not you're going to upgrade them,... wear them down and put some nice R-Compound tires on them for the track. Thats what i'm going to do with my IX SSL wheels which i think are butt ugly.
