I drove from central New Hampshire to Baltimore. Went great all the way. The car cruises well on the interstate, and I never got uncomfortable in the seats.

Well, I guess you could start a new thread on this, but I respectfully disagree that the V1 is inferior to other modern products.

Not only do reputable testers like Car and Driver (as compared to suspect internet guys like radartest.com) consistently rank the V1 in the top position in most tests, but my brother and I took a long drive with both his X50 and my V1 on the windshield next to each other, and their alerts were virtually identical, but my V1 was the only one with directional arrows.

Not to say the X50 is worse, or that there aren't some other goods ones out there (there are several) but I do love having the arrows (and high resale value and upgradability and mil-spec magnesium casing and simple controls). If I had to change anything on the V1, I would say they need different color lights for the different bands.

Back on thread, I say you're already good to go!

If you're going to Tennesee, then you MUST go drive Deal's Gap! 318 curves in an 11 mile stretch of mountain pass.

It's on the NC/Tenn border, well worth at least 1 day of driving!

I bought my 04 Evo used from a dealer in PA near Pittsburgh - drove it the 900+ miles back to FL in a day and a half and never once got tired, sore, etc. This car is a beauty to drive - and the mountains and hills of WV and PA are OH so much fun. I got a $35 kit from costco with a can of fix-a-flat, an electric pump, tow rope, jumper cables, reflectors, a hand-crank flashlight and tools and it has velcro on the bottom to keep it attached to the carpet in the trunk.

+1 to the V1 proponents - I've had mine for 6 years and it still amazes me how far its range is.

derangedazn - Going Loudon, about 40mins from Knoxville.
Damn TxEvo8 - Deals Gap sounds wicked!!!
I wanted to throw another question out - when does the adrenaline stop flowing, and your heart stop pounding from driving this car? Does it ever stop? Even on days I struggle getting out of bed and dreading going to work, as soon as I'm spooling and making a couple of quick passes I'm good for the rest of the day!!! It's exhilarating. I hope I don't offend anyone here, but I find that Nissan Maxima drivers are the worst mannered and so egotistical. More than any other car, it is by far the most common that I find tailgating or thinking can out-accelerate me (!). Even after three or four car length headstarts, and repeatedly breezing past them - they keep coming back for more!?

WOW that looks amazing. I think I will have to take a "slight" detour on my way home from southern illinois to maryland in a month.

- Any cops on that road at all??

Here in Domestic Hell, Michigan we have every single Grand Am/Prix owner thinking they are the shizzle and always think they have something on the EVO. Most of the time I let them win and if they feel good I find another way show them there is a reason for Evolution. This area (Michigan) must have more domestic idiots than anywhere. Then they wonder why their car isn't worth anything after 2 years, because everyone has one.

Sorry to highjack your thread! I wish you the best of time during your cruise!
