JAPAN TRIP SUMMER 2006 ???? or Vegas ???
I need some
Alright guys, I need some help. I'm planning a trip to Japan. It's going to be costly. It's going to cost $2,100 to $2,500 for round trip plane ticket and hotel for 2 weeks. I have a girl waiting for me in Tokyo so she can help me out with all the translations and whatnot. She speaks english of course. I am contemplating wether going or not....Has anyone ever been to japan? if so I've heard from her that it's basically the same price as N.Y. should I go? or go to vegas for a week? If i go to japan i will most def. take alot of pics and post them
thanks guys,
Take care
Yup, Tokyo is very expensive but alot of fun. Especially if you a a car and electronic freak. They have so much stuff there that we don't even have here. One thing, why couldn't you just stay with the translator to save money?

Don't pass it up for Vegas either. Everything you do in Japan will be interesting whether its ordering a meal or taking a **** at a train station. Vegas is just a bunch of casinos that will take your money.

Well I just got back from Las Vegas last night and had an amazing weekend. But DAMN... was it expensive! It was a friends bacholer party and 12 of us had an $1100/night penthouse at the Caesars Palace which was upgraded for free to the penthouse which goes for almost $2,000/night. It was MASSIVE. Two bedrooms, four bathrooms, views of north, south, and east... 39 floors above the Las vegas Strip.
We did a lot of gambling, night clubs, strip clubs, and more.
Here was a view from the master bedroom looking south towards the strip and bellagio fountain which sprays water some 30+ stories into the air (the water show was only at about 10 stories in this photo).

Drive from LA to Vegas: 4 hours 15 minutes
Drive from Vegas to LA: 7 hours 30 minutes
How tired and sore i was from driving my new IX home: Priceless.
for now on i'm using my mastercard to travel via Jet Blue...

You can fly to Japan at a pretty decent price, I've seen as low as $400 during the off season. Japan WILL be expensive tho, but I'm sure you can find cheaper places to stay that is away from Tokyo.
On a general term, the food there is a little more expensive on average, hotels are much more expensive, but transportation (train) is reasonable in my opinion.
Japan will be a really interesting trip, and if you have someone to guide you, that's even better. I would take the Japan trip personally, but depending on how long you are going to stay, I would spend more on this trip. I recommend going 2 weeks MINIMUM. Jet lag will kill you the first couple of days.
