There are companies out there that make i/c sprayer kits, but they use co2 because its much cheaper and still pretty cold. Its not bad for you eng at all. All your doing is cooling the intake temp. IMO not worth the money. But they have been proven to increase HP on a dyno.

please rephrase the question:

onto the intercooler (spraying the outside) = OK

into the intercooler (basically a dry kit) = bad

I am pretty sure he means spraying onto the intercooler.

I heard people see gains of up to 20 whp from these, and i am real interested on how they would help the stock intercooler perform.

On a stock turbo configuration I don't see why this wouldn't be a better option then replacing the intercooler as a whole. I understand it won't help flow any better, but is that really neccesary in stock turbo form anyway?

What do you guys think?

the best place to spray would be after the intercooler. that way you get the intercoolers work and the cooling of the n2o!

Chris.

A certain shop was told to run a test on the the company that make this i/c chiller kits. The numbers where so low it wasnt even worth posting the numbers that the companys where claming was for certain types of i/c on the evo's it didnt make that much power it made way less the company told the shop to forget it and dont post it up the mag that was going to print it on there monthly issuse called off the test becasue the gains where not worth posting. This i/c chiller is mainly for the cars running the smaller i/c like the one's used in civic's on thouse's types of i/c they made the most power since the evo cores are so well made with a great airflow this product wouldnt make that great of impact. Save your money. Many people that have it they have ripped it off due to this same fact.

You have to remember too that if you spray NOS onto the intercooler you also run the risk of ingesting it into the intake as it blows through the front end of the car. This could result in very spontaneous lean AFR's. You would never know when it may happen and it could lead to detonation.

If you are contemplating setting up something like this I would go with a Co2 bullet on the intake pipe leading up to the tb this will have the full desired effect that you are looking for..... ie... lower intake temp.. It is much more efficient and I have seen it produce reasonable power for what it really is..... reasonable power being 25 - 30 horse max...
