Front Licensce Plate Mounting

I really don't want to punch holes into the bumper on my IX, so I don't want to go with the stock plate thing that mitsu threw in the trunk. Does any aftermarket vendors make a "better" (ie no holes, or really slick looking) plate holder/bracket? Or has anybody home engineered a system that is working well?

Zip tie it to the mesh. I know it covers the ic but it looks much better than that big bracket from mitsu. With the zip ties you can always take it off when you go racing.

I was thinking about doing this, but how bad is it to cover up the intercooler? Seems like it would be pretty bad to do that...

I zip-tied mine to my grille for a while, sloping down so only about half of it actually covered the grille. I used some foam to keep it from rubbing on the lower lip.

Now it's on my sun visor.

I got my Evo from Huntington Beach Mitsubishi and it came with a clever front plate mount already installed (with no drilling into the front bumper). I took it off immediately and haven't been noticed by the police yet. It was more than a zip tie thingey. They actually had one that attached to the wire mesh (front of the car) on the driver's side. You might try giving them a call and find out whether they'll sell/give you one. Other dealers might have them as well.

I bought my IX from Huntington Beach Mitsubishi also but mine came with a plate bracket in the trunk. I haven't taken it out of the wrapper yet since i don't plan on using it.

I'm going to eventually put my rear plate on and leave the front off. I'll probably leave my window sticker on the front like my friend with a WRX who drives in LA every day for two years without a hassle.

Considering how the front looks on the Evo... i doubt i'll get messed with over a plate. I doubt corvette guys do.
