stock mitsu guage package mr/rs

anyone know the size of these guages, I'd like to replace one of mine with an autometer, oil pressure guage, wondering if it will drop right in, or I'll have to ream out the hole a bit??

There are no aftermarket gauges the same size. Believe me, I checked. They are like 42mm or something. You probably can fit a 52mm if you bore out the hole, but I haven't seen anyone bother yet...

these stock gauges are tiny, like 46mm or somethin, no other aftermarket gauge will replace that little hole

ya, I guess I'd have to bore out the hole. Just want to put one guage in there, I dont want to mount 2 gauges on the pillar, but guess I might have too.

Ya, it'll look a lot cleaner if you do it that way...

You can use a steering column pod. That's what I do, because I think pillar pods are teh ghey.

Yeah, Buschur sells them for great prices.....

Can you completely remove the gauges and put the stereo in there, and put the A/M pod in the OEM stereo location?

Speaking of searching...

Yes, on the MR and RS, which come with the sports meter kit, the "radio relocation kit" is already in place, so you can simply switch the radio and gauges. Most of the MRs do it, and in the process, we move the boost gauge to the LEFT, so instead of being way down at the bottom right, it is now at the top left. For instance...

However, I don't see how you could put the autometer gauge + pod where the stereo used to be. You can only fit the stock sports meter kit there.

They are 46mm. HKS makes (or used to make) a tear drop style 46mm pod...

I bought one but it does NOT fit the 46mm OEM gauges. I called HKS and they processed a refund with no questions asked. The woman on the phone said they only work with 46mm HKS gauges. I returned it, bought a Defi 52mm and mounted it on the steering column with one of these from Lancershop. They had a package deal for the pod and gauge IIRC...

ya, I switched the guages with the radio, I'm gonna take one of the guages out, and see how much I'll have to ream out to get it to fit.

there are universal single din size gauge "pods" for 52mm gauges in either 2 gauges where they're angled at the driver or 3 gauges flat like the stock MR/RS gauges

is it actually worth buying this with the car?? or do you think it would be better to just get aftermarket gauges and the aftermarket center piece to hold the gauges/ fab up your own with some fiberglass and then relocate the radio to the lower spot??
