One of the first things I did was slap in an alpine headunit and it really wakes up the stock speakers. I do like the leather but since I track my car I though I would slide around too much. Personally I don't think you can go wrong with any Evo you choose.
Yeah; I'm thinking of a nice simple head unit, but I'd prefer one that looks relatively stock but has an integrated satellite receiver, if such an animal exists. I've heard it does wonders for the sound.
My side bolsters are so high I don't think I would slide around much no matter how hard the cornering. I love these seats!

RECARO is written in silvery/gray writing on mine. I had the impression it was white, but had to go look too.
What about your backseat headrest?
I have not sat in a the new IX SSL yet and I was planning on getting one. I had a few questions.
1. Does the stock stereo have an AUX input for plugging in mp3 players? I doubt it but I just had to ask.
2. Is it a pain to fully close the sunroof? I had a friend who has a sunroof in his car and the buttons are a pain. To open is not a problem, one direction, to close is pushing the button the other direction but if you push it too far it closes then tilts. So to fully close it you have to find the sweet spot between open and tilt. It can take a while to find that spot because even though it looks closed you hear the wind because it isn't closed all the way. Just hoping the IX has a button to just close all the way and be done with it.

However, the control logic is pretty stupid: If you have the sunroof in the tilt position and then you try to slide the sunroof open, you need to perform two consecutive operations: (1) Push the control forward to close the sunroof; then (2) give it one quick full pull back to open it automatically, or a moderate pull back to open it partially. A smarter design would have let operation (2) do it all.

My local dealer had a WW 9 w/SSL but unfortunately, it's gone...
It's now happily waiting in my driveway for me to come down and show it some love by ripping up some corners.
And like the others that have one, I simply love it.
Funny how the people that don't like them are the people that don't have one. I've never heard of someone that bought it regretting the purchase. I've also never heard any complaints about ANY of the components that come with it.
