Ignore the CEL?? thx

My CEL is on because I cutted the oxygen sensor (test pipe). I tried to extended the O2 wire, soldering it under the car was a pain in the ***. I think me and my buddy did a ****ty job soldering it.
So the CEL is on...

Do I need to get it fix, can I just ignore it. If I ignore it, will it do any harm to my car. (Computer, ECU? eh?)

thx for the comments/info bro.

Get a CEL fix like the rest of us. Do not ignore the code. What happens if you get another code that means your engine is about to blow? You need to remedy the situation. However, the rear o2 doesn't necessarily need to be working - just fix the CEL.

search for the o2 fix... there's like at least 10 threads on it and all lead back to the 4 dollar mod that is in the how to section... why would you not do it?

I know about the spark plug fouler, in fact I recently made one myself.
I thought extending the wire (UR test pipe) to the test pipe bung is a more reliable method. The problem now is that I cutted the O2 sensor wires, and its kinda hard to solder them. (small wires, limited space under the car)
thx for all the advices, i'll try to fix it.

What I HATE is that after I re-solder them. And the o2 sensor lit on again...i'll be really pissed. (I heat wrapped and everything....)

Buy an exhaust that won't throw the code, or get the 02 fix, simple as that, I'm running a testpipe and no cel fix and it works just fine.

if you wanna make your soldering easier here's a few things you can look into for long term investment.

butane soldering iron (cordless and fires up quick)

clips/third hand/soldering helper, you can take these things apart and configure them to help you hold things together.

You cant solder the lambda wires, the solder just falls off and doesn't stick. Even if you manage to get htem to stick more than likely you will have a dry joint and no connection. you can only crimp them.

If you soldered the O2 sensor back and still have a code, maybe you mismatched the heater wires which are black both.

Get the code. If it is a P0138, P0139, then the wiring is still messed. If it is a P0420, then the sensor is seeing rich exhaust.

Better yet, go to the local carparts store and pick up a cheap code reader/clearer to keep in the car. You will know what codes you're throwing and you can charge your friends a buck to do theirs too.
