Selling my s2k probably by aug or sept or even next year depends when the car I want comes out.

So now I can't decide what to do........EVO IX vs EVO X?

EVO IX MR, i could do this at the end of summer or fall, newest EVO made so far, high 12 second 1/4.....almost always win in every competition against STI, and dynos higher than STI....but the new model is just around the corner...

EVO X..........all new redesign, at least 300BHP, AWD, better interior but lloses the normal bulletproff EVO engine, paddle shifter? no shifting, could be heaviar and geared to more masses, comes out late 2007 or even 08......Mitsu UK says early 2007 for them. If it comes out 08 then I'd go 06 EVO IX MR. The EVO IX MR by August or Sept should be down to MSRP or invoice by that time.

07 or 08 STI. 07 comes this summer might have changes but if its still the 300HP and 300TQ which is dynoing lwoer than the EVO then I will pass.........rumor that it could be redesigned but that might come in 2007 as an 08 model supposed to be all new redisgn to make it look better/sportier and power bump. I think Suby will try its hardest to compete against EVO X.

so what do I do?????????????

the wild card in this is the supra which comes out next year late fall and even g35 coupe new redesigned and maybe 330HP...

for now I want EVO or STI........

What an aweomse time to buy cars! If I choose Evo, should I go EVO IX or EVO X? My S2K is close to stock now after parting her out so no longer to much fun driving her. Today was a nice top down day though

 

i would wait, if the future looks crappy by mid summer get a late model IX, problem is rumors of the IX getting production stopped in aug so its gotta be a fast decision...

 

Just get the IX man. The X will not be established for a little while after it comes out. The IX is by far the best EVO out there (stock). I came over from an S2000 as well (actually two of them), once you feel the torque in the EVO you will not have any second thoughts about your decision. Good luck with your decision either way though.

 

i say just get the ix. some say it'll be out in 07, others say it'll be out in 08. either way its gonna be awhile... and u never want to buy the first year of a new design, theres a lot of unexpected problems.. look at the 03s

 

same can be said about the 9 though. this is its first year of production with the new motor and its fighting like a champ.

 

but they just announced the SE etc coming out this year? Shouldbe plenty of EVOs

Fun car but just got tired of it, lots of reasons why. Pretty reliable car never had to much mechanicle trouble even though it revved to 9k. barely got gains with full bolt ons, Honda tuned the s2k so well.......I need torque, 4 seats, larger cabin, AWD, and speed are just a few reasons Looks cool to. EVO should be fun can't wait!

 

 

The IX looks like an Evo, it looks a bit evil

The X looks like an Acura with a big mouth, it looks a bit like an angry fish

The IX is what it is

The X is an unknown, could be the greatest Evo ever.......or not

I think the current Evo is unique (dare I say classic?); that's why I bought it

I think the X looks a bit generic, but that's just my opinion, and everyone knows what those are like.

I would go with IX, just my opinon. From the rumors the X sounds ok, but to me looks ugly. Just get an IX and do simple modifications and have a beast

 

I have a bad feeling the X is going to be a crappy platform. Why would they abandon the 4g63 after 16-17 years of development? The VIII and IX are going to be legendary.

 

Go for the IX. Production will cease in August so the plant is ramping up to build ALOT of Evo's to keep up with demand through '07. The SE GSR will have and aluminum roof, ala' MR. For the price that may be the one to own.
Once production ceases on the CT9A Evo, it'll be 16 months until we see a production X on our shores. If you can wait that long.

 

or longer if it comes out in 08....

 

I read that the tens, hood, fenders, doors, roof, and trunk, will be made of aluminum. Very light but mucho dollares!
