Insurance Rates You're Paying

I did a brief search and didn't find a thread, but just wondering what you guys are paying for Full Coverage insuarance for your 03-05 EVO. I got a few quotes and the difference between an 03 and a 05 was about $70 a month. My record is clean and I am 21 yrs old. An '03 was $156 with $500deduc/collision $1000deduc/comprehensive. They '05 was $220 a month. What are your rates?

TurboSpoolin, try the advanced search and try multiple different combinations while searching for thread topics regarding insurance. There are multiple threads that go on for hundreds of responses...

Also, please don't get any $1000 deductibles. A deductible that high means you can't afford the insurance. Do no higher than $500.

That is not entirely true. I, for one have 1000 dollar deductables because it reminds me that if I get in an accident that costs less than 1000 dollars to repair, not to claim insurance. So if I'm not going to claim insurance on it, why pay more for the lower deductable?

That's exactly the way I figured it also. It's not that I can't afford the extra $20 a month, I just rather not claim it if it's under $1000. Also, I figured, it's not gonna get stolen/broken to, but meh, we'll see. All of my DSMs haven't ever been broken into because I've been very careful and paranoid, but I also just have my AEM EMSs sitting on the ground. I just keep them garaged and keep an eye on them at others' houses. I dunno, it's just a theory I have which makes me sound really retarded right now because I can't explain it but I know what I'm saying (in my head).

Sorry about the thread Warrtalon; you can delete if you'd like.

I don't suppose that was intentional, but still funny.
This has been covered quite a bit though. Considering your age, and what you'll find in the other threads, sounds like you are getting a pretty good deal on the '03.

By your quoted numbers it's 50% more in insurance premiums on the 05 vs the 03!?! I don't understand why you would see such a massive difference in payment between the two cars. I would think that the difference in rates should be negligable between the two years. Replacement parts are virtually indentical in price, And I have a hard time beleiving that 05s have such a significantly worse claims rate history than the 03s do to justify such a huge variation in premiums.

The numbers Im seeing are staggering to me. I'm 19 and I don't have a completely clean record (1 minor speeding ticket) but the quotes I have been getting have been a lot higher.

Yeah, I was surprised by that too! I asked the insurance lady twice to double check that. I really don't know, but I think I may have a deal on a '03 anyways. I kinda really wanted an '05 though but this '03 is kind of a hard deal to pass up. Any kind of insurance is good though.

Called today and cancelled my insurance on the R32, and got an estimate on an 06 Evo. I was only $95 a month , with a $1000 deductable. Its $80 a month cheaper than my R32 I was completely shocked at how cheap it was.
I am 25 with 1 speeding ticket.
