Hey Warrtalon, another queston from a newb. If I am planning on getting a flash, should I get a mbc? From what I have read, a flash will set the new boost levels (I always read when it is late and I could be wrong). The mbc would pretty much be for show then, wouldn't it?

I got this one for you Warrtalon.

Read his sig, and click on his link.............

EDIT: To make it more clear, when you put race gas in your car you can turn the boost up!

If you had 2 maps, one set for pump gas w/21 psi, and another set for race gas w/? psi, you still don't need the mbc do you?

There aren't 2 maps on a flash, so that isn't possible.

Flashes can sorta control boost, but they don't have direct access to setting your boost. You have to use a boost hose modification to set it wherever, and then you can't change it. I've never heard of referring to an MBC as "show." The purpose of an MBC is to give you direct control of your boost under any circumstance for the extreme price of $85.

Make sure you have a gauge, set it at the lowest setting and go from there.

Mine is set at about 20psi. I have a few more modes than you do though.
