Who's 2006 Rattles at Idle?!?
#23
he said rattle goes away when he presses in clutch not throwout bearing.it is your inputshaft bearing.bearing is damaged.it will cause your inputshaft to be out of specs.that will start to rub on the inside of your transmission.in time you will start to hear a loud torqe
noise when you engage clutch.not normal.you should hear no noises from transmission onany car. mitsu tells you normal because they wont take out tranny to fix problem. as long as you will listen mitsu will fill your ears with lies.

My car had very loud dash rattle on the driver side next to the window. Strangely enough, it went away after about 300 miles. I can't explain it other than whatever was rubbing is now broke in hehe. I never heard it at idle though, but it is an interesting idle story...

My '05 does it. Started at around 6000 miles. It is annoying, but I don't think there is anything to worry about. I have heard it on several cars, particularly F-bodys.

mine has the rattle noise similar as described, at idle and at under idle (gets much worse!!) and then if you increase rpm i think it goes away, but most noticeable when the right hand side is against a wall (as in right hand side if youre sitting IN the car)
its really annoying does ANYONE know how to fix this??
how does one check/tighten the acc idler gear or whatever? how to be sure it's that?
sounds like near belts or basically belt side of engine possibly underneath
sounds loudest in the right hand wheel well, i.e. in AUS we have RHD so its the drivers side.
help!!
