This much tire wear w/ our Evo's?!
I am also starting to see some wear on my stock advans... i changed to Tein Basics when I was at 5k and now I am at 7k... I know my toe in my back rear tires are off though so that may be why it is starting to wear more...
my stockers were bald by 4K, then put on a 15% used sed of advans that lasted 11K, then some fuzions that lasted 14K and would've been longer except I got a flat that couldn't be repaired and I had to replace all four with the new Khumo ecsta's. So far I like em!
Thanks for all the input. apparently i'm not the only one with this problem.. huh?! The pictures actually don't show the drastic inner tread wear as in person but you get the idea~! Thanks again guys..
Well the soft Z rated tires generally go pretty fast, but the AWD and extra stress from lowering the car don't help either. After spending thousands on tires over last year I've leard to ALWAYS rotate them on schedule, KEEEP the tire pressure to spec, and if you need an alignment- get it done ASAP. Doing these things can keep your tires from going bald so fast, plus it'll save you on gas.
I never used to check my tread, and then by the time I'd check it they'd be bald. Check everyday or at least once a week and make sure there are no odd wear patterns. If there are then one of the things I stated above could be off.
I don't road race, and RARELY take my car to the strip- so I don't need the uber soft high $$ tires. A good tread wear rating of at least 340 is a must if you want your tires to last for more than 10K miles. If luck serves me right I should have these Khumo's for 15-20K miles.

i ate through the two yokos on the front in about 8k miles. both the inner and outter edge were worn completely down. the middle was acceptable, but not pretty. the two tires that were on the back are still reasonable though. i even had them rotated twice, once with each oil change.
i just got a set of goodyear eagle f1's. got my car re aligned too. hopefully it will help with the wear a bit.

3 sets of advans none have lasted more then 12k, I drive a mountain road daily which is much harder then the freeway cruisers. Your tires look very similar to how mine have looked.
I chewed the living daylights out of my tires at 12k miles. They were toast, stock Advans. 12k seems par for the course if you drive hard. Wear was uneven too. But the car doesnt pull to one side, I think its the aggresive camber giving you that. Rotating them helps.
Man, that's nothing! I've got about 12-15% tread left @ 8750 miles with a roatation @ 5k.
I'm testing out a set of Yokohama AVS 100's 255/35/18 on some 5 Zigen 18x8.5's. We'll see how they do.

thanks for the tip. since i had them rotated every 3k i was taking for granted that the tire pressure would be good.
although i should know better then to assume.
i'm going to be keeping a close eye on my tire condition from now on.
yeah- sometimes it's really hard to tell what your tire pressure it. Carry a guage around and try to test them once a week. At one point I was driving on 20-psi on the advans for months and I'm sure that KILLED THEM.
Remember that an increase or drop in temp. will lower the psi in your tires by aobut 10psi.

My Advans were shot at 16,000 miles with exactly the same treadwear pattern as yours. When I purchased new tires I had the car realigned. The toe was off pretty badly from factory specs, which is what caused the wear. The tires I have on there now have 17,000 miles on them and are wearing very evenly (and have plenty of tread left). Granted, they're not Advans. But if I had had the alignment done when I bought the car, I would have gotten much more life out of the stock tires.
