Quick Question on Wiretapping for TT
Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of installing my HKS turbo timer and i'm having a little problem with the wire tapping. I've never done any sort of tapping before and I searched but still couldn't find my answer.
ok here goes:
I'm trying to tap the wire that leads to the E-Brake, so my question is, do i have to strip the outer coating (the purple part) of the wire in order for the wire tap to 'close' and lock into place? I tried to just tap the wire without stripping any of the wire coating and the tap wouldn't snap shut...i checked the how-to section and all the TT install guides just say to tap the wire, but don't say anything about stripping the wire coating.
any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
-Laurence

Sorry a bit offtopic, but i'm installing my turbo timer right now. I have the turbo timer harness to make it easier, and i'm stuck on WHERE does the harness plug into on the car? I can't seem to find the location?

What tt do you have? If it's an HKS go to the link and it'll show you where the harness goes.
