Why would you jack your car up under the floor boards. Next time jack it from the frame.

we actually did jack it up from the frame on the side..., but they thought that this part was a "sub"-frame and that it would be strong enough to set the car down on at this point... luckily we didn't let the whole weight of the car off the jackstand...

RTFM your drivers manual. The proper jackingn points are clearly identified in there.

I did that on my first Evo. Don't worry about it as long as the floor board isn't bulged up.

I was in a hurry and not really thinking. I looked at it and thought "Nice boxed section of frame, that will be a good place for a jackstand since I have my jack at the jacking point."

Turns out I was wrong as well.

so what if your floorboard is all bulged up? would that effect structural rigidity?

IDK. I just would think it would be very uncomfortable to sit there. LOL.

That piece just protects the head of the bolt under it, it's not a big deal. That is a "skid pan" for a bolt that I can't remember it's importance.
