Lets talk about gauges........

Well I had a autometer ultra-lite boost gauge intalled on my IX and this thing is horribly inaccurate. My boost peaks at 16-17 psi tappering down to 10-12 psi when on a incline, on straight roads it peaks at 14-15 psi then tappers to 10-12 psi. When the car is off the needle is in the box area of zero psi but it's on the far left corner near the negative psi area so it's not exactly sitting on zero. Can I fix this gauge to read the correct boost or should I throw it away and get a new gauge? If I'm going to need a new one which gauge would you guys suggest? I need the most accurate gauge possible. All my subaru buddies are telling me to get the defi gauge but for that same price I can get a turbosmart e-boost ebc which doubles as a digital boost gauge. What do you guys think?

I'm using a Stewart Warner boost gauge that reads up to 25psi. Its been very accurate and matches the dash at night since it lights up red. Its pretty cheap too! I paid $50 for mine.

Ever thought your car might actually have an issue with it? Verify with another gauge and go from there...

Where did you get it from? Is it 52mm? I have a carbon fiber 52mm gauge pod so I wonder if it will fit????

most likely you have the port in the wrong spot.. search vacuum gauge swinging needle for the correct vacuum port.. and buy a s/w 40 boost, 30 vac.. search stewart werner.com..

It's the gauge for sure. I'm 100% stock except for a ecutek flash and mbc and while tuning it made great power so I know it's not a leak or anything else. My tuner showed me on the laptop that I was hitting 21 psi but my gauge only shows around 15 psi.

I would try just getting another gauge from autometer. Autometer makes good gauges, they are the #1 brand in NHRA drag racing. I would try to contact Autometer and just get a replacement. I use Autometer C2's and they work great for me. I used both an electronic and a mechanical and they're right on the money(give or take 1-2 psi her and there). I had one of my gauges stop lighting up, i sent just the gauge back to get it repaired and they send me a whole brand new gauge kit in return. It was a $200 electronic boost gauge. Definately try giving them a call to replace it first, you don't have a low quality gauge.

I already contacted the guys I bought the gauge from and they offered to take care of everything and send me a replacement but for me to uninstall the gauge and ship it back to them and then wait for them to ship me a replacement is too much of a hassel for me. I don't want to end up with another inaccurate gauge so I'll just go ahead and order the stewart warner 25psi -30 vac boost gauge.

Quick question? I have the autometer 52mm carbon fiber cup gauge pod and I was wondering if the stewart warner gauge will fit? I know it probably will but I have to make sure lol
